Daily tour guided by Francisco the fearless driver

Amazing experience of a full day trip across north west part of Madeira with stops at Cabo Girao, Ponta Do Sol, Porto Moniz, Seixal, passing by Calheta to view the epic landscapes and drive over the clouds. Eucalyptus forest trail was great to be seen too! 2h stop at Porto Moniz to enjoy the swim in the volcanic pools. Cabo Girao required 5€ ticket to be purchased to get to the viewpoint at the glass bridge-not too much to be impressed of. Optional atop at zip line & swing, make sure you pre book this and let the booking team know so they can plan the daily trip schedule. Ideally zip line is great between 11:30 and 14:00. Francisco was very fun driver with great driving skills, great English and amazing historical knowledge of multiple locations we passed by. I would highly recommend this trip!

Not open top and boot seats used to take more people, we had to sit here all day

The locations on the trip were fine, shame the smaller fee admission weren’t included. Personally I think there should be 2 hrs at Porta Meniz, enough time to have a leisurely dip in the volcanic pools and to have some lunch. The complaint I have with the trip was that it was advertised as an open top jeep type vehicle but it was not so we were not in the great sunny air. Also we ended up in the boot seats which are not comfortable, facing in wards and higher so couldn’t see out of the windows (at the scenery) I am also tall so it made this even worse sat up there. We were told that we would get to move on the way back but the other people didn’t want to sit there either and began kicking off so I didn’t push for any fairness. Although I don’t think anyone should have to spend all day in that position, really did completely spoil our day and experience unfortunately.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Funchal.

How much does Madeira Jeep Tour Optional Zipline, GiantSwing and Volcanic Pools cost?

    +

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Funchal usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Madeira Jeep Tour Optional Zipline, GiantSwing and Volcanic Pools take?

    +

Plan for about 8.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Funchal is not rushed.

Is Madeira Jeep Tour Optional Zipline, GiantSwing and Volcanic Pools worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Funchal, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Madeira Jeep Tour Optional Zipline, GiantSwing and Volcanic Pools?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Madeira Jeep Tour Optional Zipline, GiantSwing and Volcanic Pools suitable for kids and families?

How far in advance should I book Madeira Jeep Tour Optional Zipline, GiantSwing and Volcanic Pools?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Funchal can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Funchal and add a light layer if any part of the 8.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Madeira Jeep Tour Optional Zipline, GiantSwing and Volcanic Pools start and how do I get there?

    +

What are the best things to do in Funchal?

    +

On Outty we rank every Funchal experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jeep Tour Amazing West to Natural Pools -Full-Day, Porto Moniz, Seixal, Fanal Forest, Cliff Skywalk in Open Roof 4X4, West Tour-Fanal Forest & Porto Moniz Natural Pools Small Groups. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Funchal?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Funchal?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
