Zanzibar is a great place for shopping and bargain hunting. You will inevitably come across the odd ashtray carved out of a coconut shell but there are enough locally made art and craft to fill a whole suitcase with tasteful souvenirs! On this half-day tour, your guide will accompany you to local shops around town starting at the kanga bazaar where you can read proverbs printed on kanga cloth and also learn to wrap a kanga the traditional way. This will be followed by a visit to the leather sandal making workshop that has been supplying sandals to the island since 1976 after which you will move on to SASIK, one of the most successful women’s cooperatives in Zanzibar, to watch the women workers hand stitch and embroider elaborate cushion covers and wall hangings.

My best Zanzibar trip
I had the best experience on trip to Zanzibar because of Bohobe travels, they made sure that I was comfortable and safe.
Response from the operator: Dear Customer Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly happy to hear that you enjoyed your safari to Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the visit to the Hadzabe tribe. It means a lot to us to know that everything was well organized and that you had such an enjoyable time. Your kind words about Juma made our day — we will be sure to pass your compliments to him. He will be very proud to hear this 😊 Thank you again for trusting us with your safari experience. We would be delighted to welcome you back in the future for another adventure in Tanzania. Warm regards, Abraham & Team

Tour did not take place
I would like to make positive comment but I am unable to do so as they didn't show up. My husband and I WAITED FOR 2 AND A HALF HOURS. The advertised phone number was not answered despite several attempts from myself and the hotel staff. I tried messaging via Facebook and Whatsapp to no avail.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to read about your disappointment and the inconvenience you describe. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide to our clients. That said, after carefully reviewing our official bookings, schedules, and communication records for the date in question, we were unable to locate a confirmed reservation under your name or a booking that was finalized through our official channels. We take situations like this very seriously and kindly invite you to contact us directly via our official email address or through TripAdvisor messaging, so we may review the full details together, including any booking confirmation or proof of payment. Our company operates legally, works with licensed drivers and partners, and has successfully served many international guests. We remain fully open to clarifying this matter in a transparent and professional manner. Kind regards, Management

Made In Zanzibar: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zanzibar City.
How much does Made In Zanzibar cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zanzibar City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Made In Zanzibar take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zanzibar City is not rushed.
Is Made In Zanzibar worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zanzibar City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Made In Zanzibar?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Made In Zanzibar suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Made In Zanzibar?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zanzibar City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zanzibar City and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Made In Zanzibar start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zanzibar City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Zanzibar City?
+
On Outty we rank every Zanzibar City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 Hours Private Stone Town Walking Tour, Stone Town Heritage Walk with local Guide, Zanzibar Adventure Quad with Sunset and Transfer Included. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zanzibar City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zanzibar City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

+
