Machu Picchu guided tour
Julio and Paul were great guides. They contacted us the previous days with all the details and waited at the entrance. Of course they do a great tour but I want also to say how great photographers they both are! 😁

Great tour experience
We had a great experience with both of our tours! We went to Machu Picchu and Laguna Humantay and I definitely recommend that you go with Luna Tours. I would specially like to thank Dubaly for the tour in Machu Picchu and for giving so much attention and teaching us all that the city has to offer. Thank you also Benjamin, Wilson and Miguel for giving us such a nice experience.
Response from the operator: Muchas gracias por su comentario, nos sentimos felices de que haiga disfrutado su tour con nosotros

Awful
I DO NOT recommend this company at all and I’ll explain why. I chose them after thorough research but had a terribly disappointing experience. It was supposed to be a magical day which turned into pure stress. The first step of the day would be a pick up from our hotel very early morning to take us to the bus station, but they never showed up. We took a cab ourselves (for which I requested reimbursement) while trying to contact the driver and the company to no avail. After the bus we took the train and once in Águas Calientes someone was supposed to meet us for further instructions. That worked fine but the lady just took us to the bus line (that takes you up to Machu Picchu) and said “wait here for your bus”. The “wait here” turned into a 1h45mins wait - a little heads up would’ve been appreciated since there were no washrooms or anything, you need to pay if you need to pee at any store/restaurant. That already drains your patience considering how the day had started. The lady that took us to the line came back at some point to take a picture of us and ask me to send her via WhatsApp the number of the bus we were embarking so the guide would easily find us up there. Well that didn’t happen and you’re not allowed in Machu Picchu without a guide so after waiting for 15-20 mins, we considered paying one of the random guides just to be able to get in. We eventually found our guide - the guided tour itself was great, except for the one million black flies that eat you alive up there, and again a little heads up would’ve been highly appreciated. After the tour, the guide went down in the bus with us and said he would point out a good restaurant to try cuy. But he didn’t simply do that, he proceeded to sit down uninvitedly and started ordering, we thought he would pay for his bill but we were so flabbergasted and caught so off guard in the moment that in the end when the bill arrived, we simply paid for it. He shamelessly invited himself for lunch which put us in a very uncomfortable position. When we contacted the company they said they had no responsibility for the guide’s actions and that we should’ve simply said we wouldn’t pay for his bill. Well easier said than done wasn’t it? I requested reimburse for the lunch we had to pay and for half of the amount paid for the entire service since it was absolute low quality and instead of a magical day we had basically stress stress stress stress. It almost felt like we were scammed, told lies and delivered a crappy service. They message you from multiple WhatsApp numbers, which itself to me screams amateurism and in the end after a lot of arguing they reimbursed the amount paid for the guide’s lunch but nothing else. Words do not describe what a disappointing experience that was, mostly considering the terrible customer service they provided in the end, they really aren’t ready to deal with issues and don’t know how to properly respond. Pick another company, preferably one that doesn’t run away with your money.
Response from the operator: Buenas tardes, lamentamos los inconvenientes que tuvo, pero lamentablemente creo que se esta equivocando o su intención es solo desprestigiar, me pusieron al tanto de su caso, la queja era solamente lo del guía profesional que le invitaron a comer pero el pensó que no debía pagar, mas es una confusión de parte de él guía por confiarse, pero no lo hizo con malas intenciones, respecto a los demás servicios salieron impecables deacuerdo a lo planificado, se le dio soluciones y alternativas para resolver este asunto pero su actitud de usted fue muy grotesca hasta trató mal al personal que fue a asistirla, aun así hemos tratado de complacerla y tener paciencia con usted, lamentamos todo lo sucedido e intentamos ayudarla pero usted no quiso ninguna clase de ayuda. siempre esperamos mejorar y dar el mejor servicio posible a nuestros clientes saludos cordiales

10 star Machu Picchu tour
Yovana is the best tour guide I’ve ever had. She was very attentive to us and went over the history of Machu Picchu while also helping us take some wonderful photos and videos. She met us at the hotel on time and answered any and all questions me and my wife had. She even gave us some recommendations for food and things to do while in Peru. I know I can only give 5 stars but she deserves 10.

Why this scores 80
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Machupicchu full day private tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Machupicchu full day private tour cost?
+
Prices start at $360 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Machupicchu full day private tour take?
+
Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Machupicchu full day private tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 339 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Machupicchu full day private tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Machupicchu full day private tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 14-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Machupicchu full day private tour?
+
Around 119 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Machupicchu full day private tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
