Discovery of Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate

Hello, I highly recommend Quechuas Expeditions. I completed the last stage of the Inca trek, with Nildo as a guide, a passionate and fascinating guide. Always attentive to his clients. Communication with Hugo from the agency was perfect. You can go there with your eyes closed. Thanks for everything

Worst tour ever

I have had the absolute worst experience with this company Quechuas Expeditions and 100% do not book with them. I booked “Machu Picchu Tour by train full day from Cusco.” With Quechuas Expeditions. The private transfer from my hotel to the train was great (I even forgot my passport and the driver drove me back to the hotel to get it-so nice). The train ride was great. The bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu was great. That’s where the problem started. We found our tour guide provided by Quechuas Expeditions. He asked to see the tickets that Quechuas Expeditions provided to enter Machu Picchu. We showed him our tickets and he said “oh this ticket is no longer valid. But if you give me 150 soles per person and I can buy you valid tickets.” The really nice couple from Europe who was on the tour with us immediately opened their wallets and gave this tour guide 300 soles for “valid tickets.” I am American and not so nice. I said “absolutely not I don’t believe you and I need to speak with the agency.” He said “go ahead and call.” I started calling the agency at 11:49am 21 times. Not a single response until 12:09. TWENTY minutes later. And it was only a text message. I didn’t get a call back until 12:26. FORTY-SIX minutes later. My entry ticket was at NOON. And worst of all I could see that they were being read due to all of it being on WhatsApp. I threaten legal action. Nothing. I threaten going to the police. Nothing. I threaten reporting them to the US embassy. Nothing. BUT the entire time they were on the phone with the tour guide who is trying to rip me off. I obviously took a picture of the guides ID that he has around his neck and even sent it to the agency. Nothing. I decided to just enter Machu Picchu with my “invalid” ticket. And surprise….it worked. As I am in the most magical place almost done with my self guided tour, finally the agency calls me only to inform me “there are two narratives to the story and we need to find out which one is true.” SO I AM A LIAR. Great. I asked for my money back. He said no. The only thing he offered was another tour guide. You think that I want to deal with another tour guide after the first tour guide you provided that tried to scam me. Andddd who successfully scammed the European couple we were on tour with? They did NOTHING to rectify this situation. This is a dream location. One of the seven wonders of the world RUINED by this agency: Quechuas Expeditions

How long does Machu Picchu Tour by Train Full Day From Cusco take?

+

Plan for about 24 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Machu Picchu Tour by Train Full Day From Cusco worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Machu Picchu Tour by Train Full Day From Cusco?

+

Is Machu Picchu Tour by Train Full Day From Cusco suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 24-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Machu Picchu Tour by Train Full Day From Cusco?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 24-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Machu Picchu Tour by Train Full Day From Cusco start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
