Early Photo Tour of Siem Reap Temples

My wife and I went on a 5-6 hour early morning tour of a number of the Siem Reap Temples. We were picked at 4:30 am. The tour started at Angkor Wat for sunrise and ended at Bayon Temple. We had a private tour with a driver and a guide. The guide was knowledgeable about the temples and the the history. He pointed out good photographic vantage points. However, he was not a professional photographer and therefore not able to make specific suggestions on lenses or settings or use my professional gear to take decent photos of us. We appreciated the availability of cold water but we made our own arrangements for coffee and croissants. The temples did not dissappoint. We had been forwarned about the sunrise crowds at Angkor Wat but were able to to get a good spot for using a tripod. We would have appreciated the tour being 30 minutes or so shorter. The light got harsh quickly so the light was only good for the first few hours. The dark stones contrasted greatly with the clear sky by 9 am or so. There was enough shade in some spots to extend the good light.

Delightful property away from the hustle and bustle

Had a delightful stay at the property. Loved that the hotel was right by a canal and that each evening one could enjoy cocktails and snacks by the canal on the property itself. The staff’s service was outstanding. Great customer experience during our check-in by Anna and during our meals where the servers in the restaurant and Garden Terrace and Roberto’s were polite and attentive. The room size and the bathroom size was very good by European standards. We had a room with a canal view which we loved. Tram #2 was a 10 minute walk and the bus stop wasn’t too far. We took the tram each day to Dam Square and Jordaan. The town was crowded so returning to the hotel’s peace and quiet was much appreciated. We had breakfast at the hotel one day. Wonderful spread of items. You can order eggs made to order. On 2 mornings we had breakfast in “Little Paris” at Le Pain Quotidien which was a delightful Belgian place with a very cozy vibe which is a 7 minute walk from the hotel. The only thing I didn’t get at this hotel was a coffee machine in the room. They had instant coffee. However, got brewed coffee at Roberto’s. I would highly recommend this property for those who want a serene environment away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. There are a number of great restaurants and cafes all within 1 to 1.5 km from the hotel.

Luxury Koh Ker & Beng Mealea Private Tours & Photography: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.

How much does Luxury Koh Ker & Beng Mealea Private Tours & Photography cost?

+

Prices start at $96 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Luxury Koh Ker & Beng Mealea Private Tours & Photography take?

+

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.

Is Luxury Koh Ker & Beng Mealea Private Tours & Photography worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Luxury Koh Ker & Beng Mealea Private Tours & Photography?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Luxury Koh Ker & Beng Mealea Private Tours & Photography suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Luxury Koh Ker & Beng Mealea Private Tours & Photography?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Luxury Koh Ker & Beng Mealea Private Tours & Photography start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?

+

On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Siem Reap?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
