  1. Vinicunca Mountain

The majestic APU Vinicunca, a sacred Andean Apu—a powerful guardian spirit that protects the lands of Cusco. More than a destination, this is an exclusive encounter with one of the most extraordinary natural wonders on Earth. In just a few years, Vinicunca has become one of the most coveted experiences in Peru, captivating travelers seeking authenticity, beauty, and meaning. Its striking rainbow hues are not just a visual spectacle—they are the result of millions of years of geological transformation: Deep Reds & Pinks: Iron oxide Golden Yellows: Iron sulfide Vibrant Greens: Copper-rich minerals Pure Whites: Quartz and sandstone Earthy Browns: Ancient clay formations Formed in prehistoric landscapes of rivers and seas, and later elevated by the powerful rise of the Andes, these mineral layers have been sculpted by time, wind, and nature into a masterpiece unlike any other.

Most amazing day and the highlight of our trip

Our friend told us about this place and the description did not do it justice! We had a great guide and we just had the most amazing day in this place. My wife and I have been to 55 countries and on the way down she told me that this was the most amazing thing she had ever seen!

Amazing Experience!

We had an amazing experience with this tour company and our guide Sam. Sam was in contact with us before we arrived in Peru asking us if we needed a ride from the airport or to answer any questions that we had during our time in Peru. Sam also provided suggestions on where to eat and where to shop in Peru. The Rainbow mountain tour was awesome. Transportation was private and they provided breakfast, lunch, unlimited water, altitude medicine and remedies, which is essential and even had oxygen if we should need any in an emergency. Sam couldn’t be any nicer and hospitable. He even made sure we were ok after the tour was compete days afterwards. He loves his country and his job and it definitely shows. I have friends coming into Cusco over the upcoming months and I already told them about this tour company and Sam. Thanks Sam for everything. 👍

Cuatrimoto Team !! Willy & Dante are the real true private travel guide professionals

I can't thank them enough for everything from timeliness, safety, value and most important the fun factor. They made us complete the not too easy trek at our own pace, emphasizing that we are here to have a great time. We did it all, including the Red Valley and then sliding down all the way to the lower path on the way back. I would recommend them to anyone, including active adults over 55+ years old. They made our once in the life time travel dream a reality.

The Best in Cusco!!!

Best tour and guides I could’ve found, we did the private tour to rainbow mountain with Samuel and Dante as our guides, they took care of everything and made us feel safe all the time, the hike is really hard core and they encourage us to find our inner force until we got to the top and then to the red valley. TOTALLY recommended and fair price for the service they give, specially compared to others in Cusco.

Luxury Escape to Rainbow Mountain: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Luxury Escape to Rainbow Mountain cost?

+

Prices start at $210 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Luxury Escape to Rainbow Mountain take?

+

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Luxury Escape to Rainbow Mountain worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Luxury Escape to Rainbow Mountain?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Luxury Escape to Rainbow Mountain suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Luxury Escape to Rainbow Mountain?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Luxury Escape to Rainbow Mountain start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
