I'm a Glasgow-born chef and I lead small-group food tours of this wonderful-but-underrated city. I've worked in some of the city's best dining spots, cooked at Scotland's first Michelin two-star restaurant, and moonlighted in stand-up comedy. Both Glasgow and Scottish food don't get the attention they deserve, and I aim to show people another side to the city and its unique cuisine. Although my tours use food as the jumping-off point, it's not entirely about eating. We talk about Glasgow's history and its role in the British Empire, the city's rough-and-tumble culture, and even learn some Glaswegian slang. I led food tours in Cambodia for many years and am delighted to be back in my home town, sharing with visitors the city that I love.

Amazing Lunch walking tour!
We do food tours in every new town we visit and this has been one of the best we've done. The price was very reasonable, in fact I'd have to say the value per dollar was among the best we've had, how often do you get a chef from a Michelin kitchen telling you about the area and the food that locals enjoy! The tour lasted a bit over three hours, and was an easy walk beginning at Cowcaddens station where we met Steven. He started us in right away with some excellent crispy pizza and haggis. The amazing thing was that the haggis was unexpectedly delicious, something that I had not expected. We also had a few other amazing dishes including Cullen Skink, a blood pudding sandwich with potato scones on a soudough loaf and finished with some of the most excellent hot chocolate I have ever had.

An Excellent Introduction to Glasgow
Absolutely fantastic tour. You get to experience real, local Glaswegian cuisine as well as learn about past and present Glasgow and have a nice little walking tour of the city. Steven is an amazing guide and it really felt like meeting a friend for lunch. The cullen skink we had here was the best in my 10 days in Scotland. If you're in Glasgow this tour should not be missed.

Walk, learn, eat!
An outstanding food tour that acquainted us with Glasgow and typical Glaswegian food. Steven was a wealth of knowledge and our walk was broken up nicely with stops at local eateries. They were responsive to our questions prior to the tour and offered many suggestions for restaurants and sites to visit. It was a perfect introduction to Glasgow! Don't hesitate to book with Steven!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the great review, and for the behind-the-scenes email. Both of us enjoyed your group immensely!

More Than Just a Food Tour
This was exactly what we wanted from our 24 hours in Glasgow; a comfortable walking tour filled with local flavors and history. The food was delicious and plentiful, obtained from unassuming, authentic eateries. We really got a feel for the city and its cuisine. Steven was welcoming, easy to converse with, and respected my partner's sobriety. If you only have a short time in Glasgow, this is how you should spend it. You will not be disappointed.
Response from the operator: Hi Nicole, I'm glad to hear that you had a great time on the tour and that you enjoyed our trip through some of Glasgow's most local spots. It's a shame you only had one day in Glasgow, but I was happy to help you make the most of it!

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Glasgow.
How much does Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef cost?
+
Prices start at $162 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Glasgow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Glasgow is not rushed.
Is Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Glasgow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Glasgow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Glasgow and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Glasgow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Glasgow?
+
On Outty we rank every Glasgow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Glasgow: Celtic Park Tour & Dine Package, Gander Walking Tours in Glasgow, Glasgow: The Clydeside Distillery Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Glasgow?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Glasgow?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Lunch Food Tour with a Glasgow Chef?
+
Included: Carbonated beverages; Bottled water; Alcoholic beverages; Lunch; and Tea and coffee. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
