    About this experience

In this tour you will have the chance to enjoy nature with an expert mountain guide who will adapt the route according to your needs and what you like most. We will walk until we reach the "Cahorros by the river" and cross the largest bridge, we will continue upriver along its left bank. Shortly after we will arrive at a large esplanade, with spectacular views of Cerro Huenes, "Los Pollos" and "Cerrajón". Following this path we will gain a higher altitude in a short time, which will allow us to observe a good panoramic view of Los Cahorros from above. And we will arrive again at the town of Monachil. Beautiful, Approachable Trail

We went on this hike with another family (kids aged 15-22). Nothing too crazy. Definitely doable for everyone. A bit more than just a simple, flat trail. There was climbing over branch limbs, rocks, etc. There were also some muddy parts. But we saw a bunch of older and younger people that seemed to be fine with it all. The trail isn't totally marked well. We were a bit unsure whether we were on the correct trail or not. And others asked as we passed them on the way back as well. I did use my trail app to help. We didn't do any other hikes in the Sierra Nevada! We wished we had time. I would definitely recommend. Beautiful!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience! We are very happy to know that you enjoyed the route and that you found it suitable for all ages, even with the little touch of adventure that involves avoiding branches and rocks. We have taken note of your comment about the signage on the trail to pass it on to the corresponding agency. We are constantly working to improve and your feedback is very helpful. It is a pity that you did not have time to explore the Sierra Nevada more! It is a wonderful place with many routes to discover. We hope to see you again soon so that you can enjoy other of our excursions. Thanks again for your recommendation! Best regards, Discovering Spain Team

    Well run tour, gorgeous scenery

Well run tour and well run, highly responsive tour company. We took a guided hike of Los Cahorros de Monochil in December with a family with teens. The guide drove us in a minivan to the trail. We had an amazing day on the trail! The scenery was gorgeous for the entire circle and our guide Gonzalo was incredibly patient, knowledgeable and engaging and made sure everyone was comfortable, safe and happy throughout the hike. Highly recommended!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Granada.

How much does Los Cahorros de Monachil Day Trip from Granada cost?

    +

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Granada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Los Cahorros de Monachil Day Trip from Granada take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Granada is not rushed.

Is Los Cahorros de Monachil Day Trip from Granada worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Granada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Los Cahorros de Monachil Day Trip from Granada?

Is Los Cahorros de Monachil Day Trip from Granada suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Los Cahorros de Monachil Day Trip from Granada?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Granada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Granada and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Los Cahorros de Monachil Day Trip from Granada start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Granada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Granada?

    +

On Outty we rank every Granada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Granada: Sierra Nevada Safari tour up to 2500 meters high, Granada Tapas and Wine Small Group Tour, Granada: Albaicin and Sacromonte Segway Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Granada?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Granada?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
