What you'll see and do
Luss
We visit the conservation village of Luss, where tidy rows of cottages stretch down to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and are brimming with floral displays in summer. Luss is a tourists’ favourite, especially its picture postcard Church founded by the Celtic Saint MacKessog. In its churchyard lies a legacy of the lawless Vikings: their 11th century ‘hogback’ Viking grave, a stone-carved sculpture.
60 minutes here
Balloch
Here our passengers have the option purchase tickets to join a 1 hour boat cruise on the beautiful Loch Lomond. Enjoy the picturesque scenery and learn more about the area. Those who prefer to stay on dry land can explore Balloch Country Park.
60 minutes here
Trossachs
We follow the dramatic Duke’s Pass and deep into the Trossachs, the ‘Highlands in miniature’. Opinions differ on the meaning behind the Trossachs, but our favourite is from the Gaelic meaning ‘the bristly country’. We'll stop for a photo or two in this area, as well as a short stop for our passengers to get some lunch. This landscape inspired Sir Walter Scott’s poem The Lady of the Lake and his novel Rob Roy and we think you’ll be inspired too, whether to pick up your camera or your notebook. Look out for a favourite photographic subject, our woolly, long-horned Highland cows. We call them hairy coos!
60 minutes here
Stirling Castle
Passengers have the opportunity to visit to Stirling Castle (tickets not included, see tour exclusions), great royal residence of Stuart Kings and of Mary, Queen of Scots, who was declared monarch here in 1543, aged only nine months. It’s an imposing sight, perched on its crag, and you’ll have 90 minutes to explore this historic gem.

Great tour. Loud music in the van!
The tour itself was great, and overall, the experience was okay. However, there were a couple of issues that affected our enjoyment. The driver played Scottish music at an extremely loud volume, which gave us a headache, especially those of us sitting at the back of the van. I asked him several times to turn the volume down, but he did not listen. Also, at Stirling Castle, we returned to the van five times, only to find it locked and the driver nowhere to be found. We ended up waiting outside in the cold for approximately 35 minutes. I was traveling with my child, who was visibly cold and uncomfortable. The driver should have been more considerate and mindful of the weather and the fact that families with children were on the tour. Overall, the tour was enjoyable, but the driver's lack of consideration and unwillingness to listen to reasonable requests made parts of the experience unpleasant. Better communication and more consideration for passengers would have made this a much better experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed the tour itself. The mini coaches have speakers throughout the vehicle which keeps the volume even across each seat. Your Tour Leader was playing music at the usual volume but after you informed him and our office that you would like it turned down, he did turn it down and also stuck to a more mellow tracks to accommodate your request. As your Tour Leader explained, when they are on a legal break, they cannot spend time with their passengers so they either leave the coach or they remain on board but cannot permit passengers on board. They require their legal break to ensure they have rested and have time to eat, use the facilities etc. Your Tour Leader wasn't aware of your intention to return to the coach in Stirling as most visitors either go inside the castle or explore the city during this stop. He had recommended the Portcullis nearby as a place to have a drink/snacks if you did wish to sit inside and relax at that stop. We are there for 1 1/2 hours so it is a main attraction on tour not a short photo stop. Your Tour Leader did everything he could to accommodate your family and your requests. He was not unwilling in any way and communicated his actions to our office during the day. We're disappointed to hear that his attempts were not recognised and that your overall tour experience was impacted.

Lovely tour of Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle, Luss and Aberfoyle.
This tour is as advertised. Luss is a lovely little town. If you don’t do the Loch Lomond boat tour there’s not a lot to do in Balloch. Not a lot of time in Aberfoyle with a real shortage of eateries. Not enough time to justify a tour of Stirling Castle. We were satisfied just soaking up the history. Would have loved to get a closer look at the Wallace monument.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. We appreciate your sharing the elements of the tour that you enjoyed and which parts you would change to improve your experience. We collate all passenger feedback to be taken into consideration when we review our tour itineraries.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Glasgow.
How much does Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle Small Group Tour from Glasgow cost?
+
Prices start at $67 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Glasgow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle Small Group Tour from Glasgow take?
+
Plan for about 8.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Glasgow is not rushed.
Is Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle Small Group Tour from Glasgow worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 97 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Glasgow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle Small Group Tour from Glasgow?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle Small Group Tour from Glasgow suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle Small Group Tour from Glasgow?
+
Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Glasgow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Glasgow and add a light layer if any part of the 8.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle Small Group Tour from Glasgow start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Glasgow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Glasgow?
+
On Outty we rank every Glasgow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Glasgow: Celtic Park Tour & Dine Package, Gander Walking Tours in Glasgow, Glasgow: The Clydeside Distillery Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Glasgow?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Glasgow?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
