Campanile di Giotto
Admire a free-standing campanile that is part of the complex of buildings that make up Florence Cathedral. The unusual position of the bell tower, aligned with the facade, reflects the desire to give it great importance as a sign of strong verticality at the center of the Insula Episcopalis, as well as probably the practical need to free the view of the apse area for the large dome, foreseen since Arnolfian project. Giotto provided an original design for the bell tower, with a pyramidal cusp termination 50 Florentine arms high (about 40 metres), according to which the total elevation should have been approximately 120-125 metres. Nice trip.
Nice trip- a lot to see! Tour guide was nice….but told a lie at the end to get more tips. Just put a bad taste in my mouth. Trip was to end at the cruise ship and she made it sound like we were only able to get dropped off at the cruise ship because the driver had been driving many years and had friends that would let us through gates.

We had a great time on...
We had a great time on this excursion. The beginning was slightly chaotic. But otherwise we had a fantastic time in Florence and Pisa. They dropped us off right outside our ship which was super nice after a long day of walking.

Pretty disappointed
Pretty disappointed in this trip. We arrived half an hour early as advised only to be sorted into their queues, wait over an hour before even getting on a bus. Then when we arrived to Florence, we were told we'd have 2.5 hours before leaving to Pisa. While this was an hour less than we were told on booking, it also meant that we'd be late back to the ship after Pisa. We told our guide our concerns and they told us the last shuttle to the ship would be at 6:30, but our all aboard time was 6. Therefore, we decided to abandon the trip and go back via the train so we would make it back to the boat on time. If there weren't such a long wait at the start, we probably would've been able to get back with plenty of time. I personally would recommend just getting the train to Florence and Pisa, it would be cheaper and more time effective.

Great Time
This was a great experience for our family and included our children: 9yo, 6yo and 3yo. We enjoyed being able to walk around on our own after arrival with a clear meet poi nt and very convenient transfers.

Early but late
Tour overall was good, however we had tickets for 830 AM got there at 8:20 AM. The motor coach had left already. We got on the 930 AM which actually departed at 9:45 AM. So a bit of annoying in the beginning but overall it was a really good tour. We went to Florence first, then Pisa, return to our cruise ship right on time.
