Meeting Lisbon in one day
Gonçalo was much more than a guide: he was our driver, historian and even photographer throughout the tour. Arrived on time at the agreed time and we traveled Lisbon with great comfort in a Mercedes sedan, always with pleasant temperature and water at your disposal. We visit the city's main sights, such as the Tower of Bethlehem and the Monument of the Discovery, as well as less obvious and equally charming places, such as the oldest still operating bookstore. The big difference was Gonçalo’s deep historical knowledge, which explained everything with clarity, context and passion for the city. It is a tour that really is worth it for those who want to know Lisbon fully, comfortably and well-enjoyed in just one day. I recommend without hesitation!

We love Goncalo!!!!
We couldn’t have had a better experience or tour guide! He took us all around Lisbon to the best spots and was so patient with our photo taking and silliness. He was so kind and even extended the tour over an hour past the ending time. I recommend this tour more than anything in Lisbon!!!

Great Lisbon overview
Great overview of Lisbon sites, culture, and history. Gonçalo was friendly and very well informed. He focused on what we were most interested in, which was to get oriented to Lisbon and learn some key things about the sites and history. I learned a lot and had fun! Would highly recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re delighted that you enjoyed your Lisbon overview and felt both informed and entertained throughout the experience. Tailoring each tour to your interests is something we take pride in, and it’s wonderful to know you felt that personal touch. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for more discoveries across Portugal!

Lisbon by Gonçalo
Gonçalo Cruz is intelligent and has a clear understanding about the history of Portugal. He is like a history book in the flesh. He was very accommodating to all our requests and made sure that we had a happy day.

The Best in Lisbon
Gonçalo C. was just the best. Everything we requested to see in Lisbon was made possible. Our tour was free and easy. It was our first time in Lisbon. We had ample time to eat, go to the toilet, buy souvenirs and food. It was World Youth Day in Lisbon and it was very busy, but he found ways to make our tour possible (even with the closed streets and detours). He bought us egg tarts from Belem which was divine. Definitely must try when in Lisboa. We had access to the kitchen where the pastries were made. He actually knew a lot of the city's history and we found it fascinating! Everything you need to know about Lisbon in one full day. We had a great time. The best part is... he will be our guide for our Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais from Lisbon tour (tomorrow).
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re thrilled that Gonçalo could make your first time in Lisbon so memorable and enjoyable. It’s great to hear you appreciated the flexibility, the insider tips like the egg tarts from Belém, and the deep dive into the city’s fascinating history. Even with the busy World Youth Day crowds and challenges like closed streets, we’re happy we could adapt the tour to make it smooth and fun for you. We hope to welcome you back to Lisbon or Portugal soon for even more unforgettable experiences!

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lisbon Private Day Tour: Old Town, Belém & City Views: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Lisbon Private Day Tour: Old Town, Belém & City Views cost?
+
Prices start at $500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lisbon Private Day Tour: Old Town, Belém & City Views take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Lisbon Private Day Tour: Old Town, Belém & City Views worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lisbon Private Day Tour: Old Town, Belém & City Views?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lisbon Private Day Tour: Old Town, Belém & City Views suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lisbon Private Day Tour: Old Town, Belém & City Views?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lisbon Private Day Tour: Old Town, Belém & City Views start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
