About this experience
In this tour you will be able to experience it firsthand at a traditional fado restaurant. We will start our Fado tour by wandering through the alleys and windy streets on a walking tour through Mouraria and Alfama (1h approx), where you can get to know the working class neighborhoods and streets where Fado was born. Our guide will explain to you the history and the cultural importance of Fado, and how it shaped mentalities in Portugal and the portuguese own sense of identity. We'll end the tour at a traditional Fado house where we'll listen to the heartfelt melodies of Fado. Lose yourself in the atmosphere and mood of this typical Portuguese music genre played by the Portuguese guitar and characterized by mournful, heartbreaking lyrics. While you enjoy the music, we will also provide you with a typical Portuguese dinner. Homemade food, portuguese wine, and an amazing environment are the keys to any good Portuguese evening.

Fado dinner was excellent
Very good guide very informative. Alexis was pleasant and answered questions. Dinner group was a great mixture of people and great conversation. You must stay silent during the performance.

There is a a lot of...
Everyone should be aware that the walking tour includes much walking over cobblestones, mostly uphill and up many flights of steps. The fado show and dinner are in an open terrace. Dinner was flavorful with ample portions and included starters, mains, dessert and drink.

Walking tour involves steep hills and many steps.
Walking tour is not for seniors. The streets in Alfama district are steep and narrow with many steps. Our guide put us on a Bolt taxi to get us to the restaurant. Driver couldn’t find the restaurant so we missed the dinner and Fado music. We were disappointed!
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry that your experience was disappointing. You are absolutely right that Alfama’s steep, narrow streets and many steps can make the walking tour challenging, particularly for seniors, and we regret that we did not set clearer expectations or provide a more suitable alternative. We’re also very sorry that the taxi journey resulted in you missing both dinner and the Fado performance. We understand how frustrating that must have been, especially after looking forward to the evening. We take your comments seriously and will review how we communicate the walking conditions and assist guests with transportation to ensure this is handled better in the future. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and please accept our sincere apologies.

Lisbon Fado walking tour and dinner
This is a very informative and pleasant walking tour through parts of Lisbon with stops at various spots for some fabulous photo opportunities. Miguel is a very knowledgeable and friendly guide who catered to everyone in our group even though we were from 5 different countries. Miguel has a wealth of information about the history of Lisbon and Fado. I would highly recommend him for a tour and would certainly go with him again. The dinner was delicious and the Fado was melodic and emotional. I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to learn about this part of Portuguese culture.

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lisbon Fado Experience: Walking Tour, Dinner and Live Music Show: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Lisbon Fado Experience: Walking Tour, Dinner and Live Music Show cost?
+
Prices start at $37 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lisbon Fado Experience: Walking Tour, Dinner and Live Music Show take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Lisbon Fado Experience: Walking Tour, Dinner and Live Music Show worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 383 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lisbon Fado Experience: Walking Tour, Dinner and Live Music Show?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lisbon Fado Experience: Walking Tour, Dinner and Live Music Show suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lisbon Fado Experience: Walking Tour, Dinner and Live Music Show?
+
Around 134 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lisbon Fado Experience: Walking Tour, Dinner and Live Music Show start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
