This is more than just a hike, it's breathtaking, it's beautiful, it's is magnificent, it's so much fun! This hike is all about fun but we do also blend in cultural and interesting facts about the fauna & flora. Cape Town has rich indigenous floral kingdom (fynbos), some of the most diverse in the world! You'll leave with a deeper insight into Cape Town's culture and who we are, and also really great facts about the mountain. It's an incredible feeling for everyone all round! Now, sunrise or sunset? It doesn't matter, they are both unbelievable. This is more than just a hike; it's an immersive experience that will leave you with memories that you will never, ever forget. Also, we hope you'll have a deeper appreciation for our incredible city we call home, our beloved Cape Town!

Lions Head at Sunset- AMAZING!!!
Absolutely — I’d make the review warm and personal, while really driving home that Lion’s Head is achievable for people with different fitness levels when you have the right guide. An Amazing Lion’s Head Sunset Hike — A Guide Who Truly Cares About His Guests We recently did the sunset hike up Lion’s Head in Cape Town with our guide, Jarrod, and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough. My friend and I have very different fitness and hiking abilities. I’m a reasonably experienced hiker, while my friend is not a hiker at all, so we were a little concerned about whether we would both enjoy the experience. Jarrod was absolutely fantastic at adapting the hike to suit both of us. What really stood out was how flexible, patient and attentive he was. He never made either of us feel that we were holding the other back. He adjusted the pace, gave us plenty of encouragement and made sure we were both comfortable and safe throughout the hike. At the same time, he was able to make the experience enjoyable for me as a more experienced hiker. Jarrod was constantly assessing how we were going and adapting accordingly. He knew when to encourage us, when to slow things down and when to give us a little extra help. His priority was clearly making sure both of us had a great experience, rather than simply getting to the top as quickly as possible. And the sunset from Lion’s Head was spectacular — but having a guide who made us both feel safe and confident made the experience even more special. I would particularly recommend Jarrod to anyone who thinks a Lion’s Head hike is only for young, super-fit or experienced hikers. It really isn’t. With the right guide, people of different ages and fitness levels can enjoy this incredible experience together. If you’re considering doing the Lion’s Head sunset hike, ask for Jarrod. His ability to adapt the experience to the people in front of him is what made our hike so enjoyable. We felt safe, encouraged and looked after from start to finish.

Amazing sunrise trek up Lion’s Head with the best guide!
We are a family of 4 with 2 kids aged 9 and 13 who did a sunrise trek up Lion’s Head with Jarrod whilst on holiday in Cape Town. He was amazing! Such a wonderful morning and made memories which will last a lifetime. He was fantastic with the kids - teaching them (and us!) all about the nature, mountain and area generally. Such a great guide and knew all the best photo (and breakfast!) spots on the way up and at the top. Cannot thank Jarrod enough - and would absolutely recommend him. We hope to return to Cape Town one day and will definitely be in touch to sort another hike then! Thank you so much Jarrod 😊 we had the best time! And all agreed the hike with you was our favourite activity we did in Cape Town!

What a way to best the jet lag!
We arrived at our hotel after a 24+ hour journey from the UK and 30 minutes later, Jarrod was at reception to take us hiking up Lions Head. The climb up Lions Head was not the easiest for a couple of 54 year olds, but with Jarrod's help, we managed to scramble over a couple of the trickier parts. The effort really paid off at the end when we got to see the views at the top, they were stunning especially seeing the sunset over the Atlantic. Jarrod provided flashlights for our descent down in the dark, which in itself is an experience! Both my wife and I were really pleased with Jarrod, he was really in tune with our needs, as in when to take a short break, when to assist when climbing and also cater to my wife's needs for taking spectacular photos, he is a very decent photographer and this could quite easily be his side hustle. This was s fun evening to celebrate my wife's birthday in a different style, a truly wild experience made that much more special thanks to Jarrod!
