10/10, loved it!!
I was so excited when I found this workshop, and it was such a great experience. It was just the instructor, my partner, and me. I'm not sure if that was a coincidence because we were the only group that booked that time slot or if she always does one group at a time like that, but the one-on-one experience was really nice. The instructor, Mika, was very sweet, patient, and enjoyable to talk to. She lets you choose from several colors of temari bases to start with as well as lots of colors of thread you will use. She then walks you through the completion of half of your ball and sends you home with everything you need to finish the other half. (I loved it so much, I finished mine as soon as we got back to our hotel.) My partner, who is usually not super artistically inclined, also really loved the workshop and wants to try making more! In my opinion, this class was worth way more than what it costs, especially because of how unique it is. Highly, highly recommend!

If you love crafty...
If you love crafty activities, you'll love this. The instructor was very kind and gave very clear instructions. You will probably not have enough time in the lesson to finish the entire temari, but she sets you up with everything you need to finish it at home. Her hand dyed threads are beautiful.

Beautiful and fun to learn!
This art-form is not only beautiful, it also has an interesting history behind it. Mika is a patient instructor. She uses a large yarn ball to demonstrate how to create the pattern on your ball. I got to select my base color as well as the colors used to make each pattern. I found this class fun and interesting. I'd love to learn some of the more intricate patterns she showed in class!

Perfect Blend of Crafty and History
A lovely, fun and interesting experience. It was great adding something different into our trip and being able to learn a new skill/craft while learning about the history also. If you are looking to add something of a slower pace in a busy trip to Japan I would highly recommend this class.
