About this experience
Welcome to an ancestral tradition that is uniquely lived in the world. The experience starts from the designated meeting point towards Xochimilco "Place of Flowers". You will board a typical trajinera, a boat that will take you between the canals to an island where a pyramid emerges that brings to life the Show "La Llorona : The Longing for a Goodbye", an ancient legend that will take you from pre-Hispanic Mexico to the battle of colonization in a moving story of life and death. You will witness pre-Hispanic dances, millennial chants and give life to the oldest traditions from Mictlan – Place of the Dead, where we will remember all those souls who still whisper memories, experiences and legacy from another dimension to this enchanted land called Mexico. IMPORTANT NOTE - The show is only provided in Spanish, however this language will make you connect with the culture and witness the ancient traditions as a whole local.

What a night!
So our plane landed a little late and we missed the original pick up point. However our tour guide gave me the exact location of where to meet and even stayed behind to make sure we got our tickets so we could experience Xochimilco during this special time. At the end of the event she was able to drop us off at the pick up point and gifted us a cute lil souvenir. Will definitely do this again!

It was a little chaotic...
It was a little chaotic with the other events happening that same day and the start time got bumped up. Other than that, the organizers were super friendly and helpful, the transportation excellent, and the experience was fun. Not scary as I expected, the show was more historical.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed the show. Unfortunately, there were quite a few events that day that caused some disruption. We'll take note of this to improve the quality and schedule so it's easier to carry out this activity.

Beautiful night and show
Our driver was very nice and helpful. He got us to the show and made sure we had our tickets and knew where to go. The show itself was very interesting and beautiful and told the story of the people who lived in the area, building the canals that we were on. The canal ride itself is short, but very beautiful. I highly recommend this experience.
Response from the operator: Hello, good day! Thank you so much for your feedback. We're glad you had a good experience and enjoyed the show, which showcased the history and beauty of the Xochimilco canals. We hope to see you again in Mexico!

I was told that pick up...
I was told that pick up time was 5:30pm then they told me 6:00 they also switched the pick up location twice . Upon arriving to the location the guide wasn’t there , she got there late . They made us wait in the car with no ac , the tour guide her english was horrible ( thats acceptable tho) but her organization skills were very poor . She had to count how many people she had in the van like 3 times . she was unprofessional and never apologized or kept us communicated of what was going on. i took two other tours through viator and the guides were profesional and great communication skills.
Response from the operator: Hello, good day. We greatly appreciate your feedback. We regret that the experience was not pleasant, and we are reviewing what happened to ensure it does not happen again in the future.

Not worth it
Late getting picked up. Was scheduled for a specific show and had to wait over 3 hours to get on a boat. Spent 8 hours when it stayed 5 hours total. Didn't get back to drop off location until after 3am. Kept being told 10 minutes. Unable to view show
Response from the operator: We sincerely regret the inconvenience experienced during the activity. We understand how frustrating the delay in pickup and the long wait to board the trajinera must be. Thank you for your feedback; we will take note of it to improve the quality of our service.

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Legendary Day of the Dead Night Show in Xochimilco: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Legendary Day of the Dead Night Show in Xochimilco cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Legendary Day of the Dead Night Show in Xochimilco take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Legendary Day of the Dead Night Show in Xochimilco worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Legendary Day of the Dead Night Show in Xochimilco?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Legendary Day of the Dead Night Show in Xochimilco suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Legendary Day of the Dead Night Show in Xochimilco?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Legendary Day of the Dead Night Show in Xochimilco start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
