Monet planted it as a living palette — long beds of nasturtiums, irises, poppies, and roses arranged by colour and height so that something is always in bloom from April through October. Walk the central Grande Allée from the house to the garden gate, then wander the side beds at whatever pace suits you. The house itself — ochre-yellow outside, intensely coloured within — is open throughout. The blue kitchen and the yellow dining room are exactly as Monet kept them. His collection of Japanese woodblock prints still lines the walls.

Monet's Home and Gardens private tour.
Had a wonderful private excursion with Normandy Day Tours through Viator to Monet gardens in Giverny. Because our entry time to the Gardens and Home was set at 11:30 we were able to stop in Rouen and see the main sights, including the spot where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. The line at Monet's gardens was longer than anticipated, but there was enough time to see everything in 3 hours. Our driver did not speak English but was very pleasant and we communicated effectively using Google translate. Wonderful trip overall. Highly recommended.
