Getting in front of The Last Supper is the hardest reservation in Milan, and this tour hands you a guaranteed timed-entry ticket so you never have to gamble on last-minute availability. Your expert, English-speaking guide meets you outside Santa Maria delle Grazie and sets up the story before you step inside, so your 15 minutes in the refectory are spent looking rather than catching up. Inside, you stand in the old Dominican dining hall where Leonardo painted directly onto the wall, close enough to read the apostles' faces and follow the lines of perspective that pull every gaze toward Christ. Your guide explains the fragile technique he experimented with, why the painting began fading within his lifetime, and how war and restoration shaped what survives. Afterwards you continue into the Cenacolo Vinciano Museum, where panels and archival images fill in five centuries of damage, debate, and repair, in a group capped at 30.

What you'll see and do
Piazza Santa Maria Delle Grazie
Meet your guide in the square outside Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Dominican church that shelters The Last Supper. While the group gathers, your guide explains how this quiet corner of Milan became home to one of Europe's most sought-after artworks and runs through the entry rules.
10 minutes here
Santa Maria delle Grazie
Follow your guide into the church and convent complex, walking past the plain cloisters that once housed Dominican friars. You hear how this UNESCO-listed site survived wartime bombing raids and why it still anchors spiritual life in the neighborhood.
15 minutes here · Admission included
Step into the refectory where Leonardo painted The Last Supper straight onto the dining hall wall. Only a limited number of visitors are admitted at a time, so you get an unhurried 15-minute window to study the apostles' expressions and the careful geometry of the scene. As you look, your guide unpacks Leonardo's unusual technique, from the fragile pigments he experimented with to the perspective that pulls every gaze toward Christ. You hear how humidity, war, and restoration nearly erased the painting, and how conservators protect what survives today.
15 minutes here · Admission included
Continue into the Cenacolo Vinciano Museum inside the same complex, where panels, models, and archival images trace how the painting has changed over five centuries. The displays add depth to details you have just seen in front of the original. Your tour finishes here, back out in the square beside the church.

Great tour!
Expensive? Yes! Worth it? Also yes! Fantastic guide who was full of information that you wouldn't know if you did this yourself. He was super enthusiastic about the painting itself, but also the building it is housed in. Fantastic that only small groups were allowed in as we got a fantastic view of the painting and some great pictures. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
Response from the operator: Hi Bridget, thank you for your thoughtful review! We completely agree—the price can feel high, but the intimate group setting and your guide’s enthusiasm truly make the experience worth it. It’s fantastic to hear you enjoyed both the masterpiece and the building housing it. Hope to welcome you back on another incredible tour soon!
