Mushing
We were looking for a place to book a huskytour where the dogs are treated well and really cared for - which is what we definitely found! Tinja & Alex love their dogs so much and could tell us plenty of stories about them. Both of us had pretty much zero experience with dogs and we told them so in the beginning. We have also asked them the day before if the mushing will take place because there was way less snow than expected this year. They told us it will. During the stay we both felt overwhelmed with making sure „our“ dogs stay in their place because we were afraid of hurting them for example if they got tangled up in their leash. After the introduction we started a ride on the frozen lake (which was, based on their explanations, the skill-wise easier trail than in the forest). Within the first ten minutes we fell over more than once because the trail was quite narrow and had lots of snow on both sides - we never did mushing before and the controlling of the sledge is really hard. We were visibly struggling a lot (crying) but had to handle it on our own. We noticed the leash being quite thin in front of one of the dogs and told her, she said we had to tie a knot (which was quite difficult because the dogs of course were tearing from both sides). The leash then tore at some point and two dogs took off which is when Tinja came to help us. After maybe 30 intense first minutes we got the hang of it (more or less) but the other couple that was on our tour struggled a lot which is why we had to stop every two to five minutes. Only one of the two hosts was on the trail with us and because she had to take care of her sledge, she couldn‘t really help us … The dogs were amazing but the rest of the experience was disappointing. We did not feel comfortable because there was barely any help on the trail, we could not enjoy most of the ride and to be honest we‘re not sure if we will ever do it again due to the bad experience. In addition we think it was not worth the money in these hard conditions (frozen river with a lot of slush-ice, uneven trail, etc.) because it is not the same experience as if there is a lot of snow with nicer trails. Its not fair to pay the full amount of money in these conditions, also because we asked beforehand if the tour will take place. It would have been better to cancel the tour. In conclusion we would have wished to be looked out for too because in the end it is us who pay for an experience - they should not forget that they are also hosts that sell an experience to people.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback with Lapland Royal Adventures. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and understand how stressful and uncomfortable the situation must have been for you. While we’re glad to hear that you appreciated the care given to the dogs, we sincerely regret that you felt overwhelmed during the activity and did not receive the level of guidance and support you expected on the trail. This is not the experience we aim to provide, especially for guests with little or no prior experience. We also understand your concerns regarding the trail conditions and overall value of the experience in those circumstances. Your feedback about safety, guidance, and decision-making in challenging conditions is taken very seriously and will be reviewed internally with our team. Thank you again for your honest and detailed feedback.

Experience with Huskies
We did the long circuit of the sleigh tour with huskies and it was really worth it. The scenery was spectacular, we crossed snow-filled forests and an icy lake. There was more than enough time to enjoy the views and interact with the dogs at the end. Paula, the guide, was a charm: close, very professional and always watching that we were comfortable and enjoying. You could tell he likes what he does and made the experience even better. Highly recommended.

Lapland Wilderness Husky Safari 7,5 km: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.
How much does Lapland Wilderness Husky Safari 7,5 km cost?
+
Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lapland Wilderness Husky Safari 7,5 km take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.
Is Lapland Wilderness Husky Safari 7,5 km worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lapland Wilderness Husky Safari 7,5 km?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lapland Wilderness Husky Safari 7,5 km suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lapland Wilderness Husky Safari 7,5 km?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lapland Wilderness Husky Safari 7,5 km start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?
+
On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
