Good tour around Beijing
Lily was great. Very good tour guide. The lama temple is worth it. Walking around the hutongs is always interesting. The silk and pearl markets are kinda a waste time. Just walking around retail stores, but occasionally a good one appears. Lunch was great

Private Great Tour Ended with Disappointment in Silk & Pearl Market
Our guide Lily picked us up from the hotel on time. Conveniently with DiDi, we could visit the desired sights such as Lama Temple, Hutongs, Beer Brewery, Houhai Lake, Panjiayuan Market and Silk & Pearl Market quickly and practically. Lily speaks very good English, is knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time. Unfortunately, I deduct 1 star from the review, as we were ripped off in the Silk & Pearl market by 4x the original price. At the same time, the sellers there are very intrusive, which is very annoying. In this hustle and bustle, as the tour was coming to an end and our first day with conversion errors, the saleswoman in the entrance took the chance to sell chopsticks for 300 instead of 70. It's very shameful. Very disappointed even after days. Hope for karma. I recommend you to visit other shopping streets with the guide. Stay away from this market!!! I trusted the advertising copy of the travel agency Sunflowerli that I should get the best offers in this market - this is not true at all - please remove this market from their program.

Amazing Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour
Our guide was called Aaron, he was amazing in his experience, knowledge and expertise. His english was perfect. Such a lovely person showing us all the sites He picked a great restaurant for lunch and we tried the famous perking duck - its out of this world. Aaron helped us to visit the silk and pearl markets, where we also had to replace our mobile phone and he was very helpful finding a shop that sold tech items. Fantastic tour and highly recommend Aaron.

Amazing experience!!
Sunflower Li is absolutely amazing. Bubbly, full of energy, kind, thoughtful, observant, knowledgable. She makes you feel like you’ve been friends for years with no effort. She has a lot of history and interesting stories. She loves her culture and country and gets you to also share her love and admiration. She was also very flexible with changing the list of places we visited as I’d already seen some and there were some others I wanted to see. We added Summer Palace to the list, and also did Lana temple, two Hutong areas and the sugar rooftop. Lunch was delicious where we tired frogs, shrimp and a local spicy chicken stir fry. I booked the your very last minute at 10 pm the night before. She lives in the suburbs but was here on time, all smily and friendly despite the short notice. Sunflower Li definitely helped me get a different level of insight into her amazing city and culture. I can’t recommend her highly enough!!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lama Temple, Hutong and Silk & Pearl Market Private Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
