I would call it a half day tour…

Read the small script, visit to vila Carlotta is optional and if you get off the ferry there, you have to pay for a ride to Bellagio; The tour is advertised as private, but you have to take a public ferry and we had to wait more then 45 min to board it; Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable, but the tour in Como was about 20 min at the most , she left us in Belagio at 1 pm , and we had a choice to stay there on our own or go to Varenna by ourselves and pay for way back.. The boat ride to Bellagio and back is 14,5 euros, so paying 447 $ for the two of us for the tour seems a bit excessive…

Response from the operator: Good morning Anna. First of all in the product are clearly written whìhat is included and what it isn't, and also that the tour will be performed using public transportation (on the other side you will have paied over than 600 euro only for private boat for 2 hours); train and all public boat where included from Como Lago Station to Bellagio and you where able to get on and off the boat as many times as you wanted (was included also to go to Varenna only one way to reach the train station but in your case you where able to go to Varenna to visit it and after you needed to buy tickets only to go back to Bellagio and also if you wanted to switch a slow boat transfer into a faster one that you have done paying the difference of 4.40 euro insted the total price of 14.80 euro . About Villa Carlotta it was clearly written that tickets where not included (euro 15 or less it depends on your age) and you have chosen not to get off and not to visit it. And last normally I remain whith clients also on the way back to Como and we stay together also for lunch but as you have said to me that you wanted to go aroud by yourself I left you wondering for the village of Bellagio. I am very sorry that you did not appreciate having a private guide at your disposal all day. This is the service we offer

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lake Como?

    +

How many days do you need in Lake Como?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
