What you get

    About this experience

Lake Como is a land of wonderful landscapes and history, but also the place where adventurous vicissitudes of smugglers, brigands and soldiers have been consumed. In this frontier land between Italy and Switzerland, the mountains just off the center of Como, were excavated to accommodate trenches, fortresses and hiding places. The forests have been inhabited by thousands of soldiers and the  trails were crossed from one side of the border to the other by  men with huge shoulder bags, often escaping from the guards of both countries. We will guide you for a few hours in  the Spina Verde park, a still green area of Como, where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the park, beautiful views of the city and the lake and learn very particular aspects of the local history.

    Hike on the Spina Verde

Michele was a most engaging guide and regaled us with the history of the region, the activities of the smugglers and law enforcement. The hike was scenic, covering forested areas where the smugglers operated, across farms, a WW1 defensive position and down to the valleys where the fabulously wealthy had their villas. There were several steep portions during the hike but he kept an easy pace, provided enough time for rest and water for hydration. 10/10 will recommend.

    UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

I grouped some good friends and chose this experience as a surprise gift for my boyfriend, who was enthusiastic: already a day with the right company, between nature and beautiful views are excellent ingredients, but the added value of the guide (in our case the fantastic Fabia), the narratives, the chance to know stories that otherwise you would never know, fascinating and curious, made everything unique. It was such a memorable day! Thank you so much

Response from the operator: Grazie Martina! Siete stati voi con la vostra simpatia e le vostre domande ficcanti a rendere la mia giornata unica. Un abbraccio a tutti voi, spero di reincontrarvi!! Fabia

The dark side of Lake Como

One of our favorite days on Lake Como. A beautiful hike that we would have never found by ourselves on hidden paths in the woods. And we had a lot of fun listening to the incredible stories of the local smugglers. Highly recommended!!

Response from the operator: Thanks Vicky, it has been fun sharing the day with you guys. I hope to meet you and your little Mastino again in the future! Ciao e grazie Daniele

Fun and interesting day out in a beautiful woodland

We had a great day. Despite the walk being longer than my 12 year old son is normally willing to do, Daniele made the whole adventure fun, engaging and really interesting for both of us. We were rewarded with a wonderful picnic of delicious local food (that he had chosen from the market that morning) and a most magnificent view of the lake. PS the coffee his dad sends along is great!!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Como.

How much does Lake Como Rebels: Adventure day in Spina Verde Regional Park cost?

    +

Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Como usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Lake Como Rebels: Adventure day in Spina Verde Regional Park take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Como is not rushed.

Is Lake Como Rebels: Adventure day in Spina Verde Regional Park worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lake Como, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Lake Como Rebels: Adventure day in Spina Verde Regional Park?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Lake Como Rebels: Adventure day in Spina Verde Regional Park suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Lake Como Rebels: Adventure day in Spina Verde Regional Park?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Como can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Como and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Lake Como Rebels: Adventure day in Spina Verde Regional Park start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Como within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lake Como?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lake Como experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Lake Como & Lugano: 2 Countries in 1 Day, Boat Cruise, Como, Bellagio & Varenna: Small Group from Milan with Boat Cruise, Small-Group Lake Como: Bellagio, Varenna, Hidden Gorge & Boat. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lake Como?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lake Como?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
