    The tour was very varied...

The tour was very varied and informative. The plantation grows three different varieties of cacao beans and is an organic plantation. Our guide, Nellson, also told us a lot about the history of cacao, and we got to make pralines and even try a special cacao drink. We would definitely take the tour again.

    Fantastic tour

Amazing chocolate tour with Nelson! We walkes through the grounds and saw the differwnt chocolate plants, saw several toucans too! We learned the history of chocolate and had an amazing time dancing to the beat of the drums as we prepared the chocolate in the traditional way. Highly recommend

Response from the operator: We sincerely appreciate your kind words about our excursion. Feedback like yours is the best reward for our guides and the entire team, who strive to create unforgettable memories. Safe travels and thank you for choosing us!

Such fun, so glad we chose this one

What a brilliant experience. I was so confused by all the different tours and now I’m so pleased we chose this one. Nelson was a wonderful host, and the whole experience from arrival to departure was perfect. A walk through the organic farm, to cutting open the pod, to cracking open cacao etc etc 90mins flew by and our 13yr olds were interested throughout. Oh and the chocolates we made are delicious!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your rating and for sharing your experience! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour and the activities we prepared. We hope to see you again on a future adventure.

    Worked for grandparents and grandkids

We did this chocolate tour as a group of seven. We had grandparents down to grandkids (ages 5 and 8), and it worked well for everyone, one of our favorite guided tours of the trip. Our guide, César, was informative the whole way through. He had us curious and laughing, singing and chanting for most of the tour. So fun. We ended up being the only group that afternoon, which made it feel more like someone showing you around his farm than a tour. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your rating and for sharing your experience! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour and the activities we prepared. We hope to see you again on a future adventure.

    Highly recommended

This was so fun and our tour guide, Norman, was so knowledgeable and lovely. We even got to see a sloth during this experience. We learnt about the history of cacao and made some of our own chocolates. Definitely worth doing if you’re visiting La Fortuna

Response from the operator: The guide's name is Nelson :) Thank you so much for the excellent review! 😊 We loved sharing this tour with you. Until the next adventure!

How many days do you need in La Fortuna?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
