    a fantastic escape!

actually I took this one in March this crazy year, and it was a perfect escape! Looking at the trees was like being in a Japan storybook. The historical stories made the whole experience even more alive. and the food! superb! I really understand the significance of seasonality in Japanese food. highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review. It means a lot to us. We work hard to share a local's view of Cherry Blossom time in japan and we are so glad you enjoyed.

    Disappointed

We did this tour in April of 2019 not 2020 as suggested below. I don't know why Arigato is asking for our review now. We didn't like excess time waiting for the other people to form our small 5 person group ( we were told that we had be on time.) Then we had to make allowances for a small baby and the Parents desire to cos play. After visiting shrines etc. We were invited to sit on the cold ground (it was a very cold evening) to perhaps start the food portion of the tour? We explained to the guide that is wasn't a comfortable idea, but the other family wanted to picnic. We left and didn't stay around to participate in the rest. Have no idea about he food portion of this food tour. The cherry blossoms were beautiful but we didn't need an expensive guide for that. Every food tour we participated in with Arigato in Tokyo was 5+ stars. I am not sure that this one was well thought out in case of cold weather. We suggest that they make it a " food "tour with indoor stops like the others in Tokyo. I have no problem with Arigato..they easily refunded our tour fee.

Response from the operator: Of course we are sorry that you were requested to review again and responded in this way. As noted in your review you were satisfied with the resolution after your tour AND you enjoyed other tours with us. One star reviews are damaging to small companies like ours and especially during this time of coronavirus. Since you were satisfied with the way we handled the complaint in 2019 and you had other fun tours I humbly would ask that you consider the impact of the review at this time and perhaps make a change? The tour was new at the time you had taken it, We were doing the traditional style of Hanami picnics but we took your feedback very seriously and made alterations based on your comments. Thank you again for choosing us during your trip and I hope you can see I am writing with this request based on the whole situation around your touring dates. Apologies again that you found the cherry blossom tour was not a good fit for your needs and expectations. We have improved it since that time and are excited to offer it when travel to Japan resumes in the future.

    Don’t waste your money!

While the guide was nice and knowledgeable you could do this tour independently for a tenth of the price.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.

How much does Kyoto Spring Evening (Cherry Blossom) Food Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $217 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kyoto Spring Evening (Cherry Blossom) Food Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.

Is Kyoto Spring Evening (Cherry Blossom) Food Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kyoto Spring Evening (Cherry Blossom) Food Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kyoto Spring Evening (Cherry Blossom) Food Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kyoto Spring Evening (Cherry Blossom) Food Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kyoto Spring Evening (Cherry Blossom) Food Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kyoto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto Ghost Tour: Dark Tales, Urban Legends, Bamboo Forest Night, Kyoto : Chopsticks Making Workshop with Engraving Option in Gion, Kyoto: Gion Hidden Gems & Geisha Culture Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kyoto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kyoto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
