Hiroki met us at the...

Hiroki met us at the cruise port and we were off on foot to the subway station to travel to Kyoto. There is a lot of travel time involved in this trip from Osaka to Kyoto and back to Osaka . We saw some of the important sites, had a traditional Japanese lunch which everyone enjoyed. Hiroki saw that some members of our group had difficulty walking long distances and recommended taking a cab which worked out well. He arranged for us to take the bullet train back from Kyoto to Osaka which was a great experience.

Response from the operator: We’re so glad you enjoyed exploring Singapore and gaining so many local insights along the way! It’s wonderful to hear the experience felt both engaging and personalized, with thoughtful attention to your needs throughout — your kind feedback means a lot to us.

Great place and great guide!

Khalid absolutely showed us the best that Kyoto has to offer in the limited time we were there. Very knowledgeable about all things Kyoto and very interesting and humorous. Take the rickshaw ride through the bamboo forest for sure!

Response from the operator: We’re delighted to hear that you had such a great time in Kyoto with Khalid and that he was able to show you the highlights of the city within your limited time. It’s also wonderful to hear you enjoyed his knowledge, humour, and recommendations. We agree—the rickshaw ride through the bamboo forest is truly a special experience!

Best tour of our trip!

Walking Tour with public transport included. Kai was wonderful, very flexible with what we wanted to do. She taught us how to use the train system which was a great help, and accompanied us back to the port. Great local lunch and Sake tasting. Could not have had a better day!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful day on your walking tour and that Kai made it extra special with her flexibility and guidance. It’s great to know that learning the train system, enjoying a local lunch, and tasting sake added to your experience.

Great guide, bamboo forest is wonderful

Kalid, my tour guide was excellent. I did realize this was a walking tour, and I have some mobility issues. He was able to suggest an itinerary that met my needs. It was beyond my expectations. The rickshaw through the bamboo forest was such a joy.

Response from the operator: Hello Elizabeth, Thank you for sharing your experience! We're so glad Kalid was able to tailor the tour to your needs and that you enjoyed the rickshaw ride through the bamboo forest—it sounds magical! We hope to see you on another tour soon!

Kyoto Day Trip from Osaka Port – Private Shore Excursion: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Osaka.

How much does Kyoto Day Trip from Osaka Port – Private Shore Excursion cost?

+

Prices start at $63 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Osaka usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kyoto Day Trip from Osaka Port – Private Shore Excursion take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Osaka is not rushed.

Is Kyoto Day Trip from Osaka Port – Private Shore Excursion worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Osaka, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kyoto Day Trip from Osaka Port – Private Shore Excursion?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kyoto Day Trip from Osaka Port – Private Shore Excursion suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kyoto Day Trip from Osaka Port – Private Shore Excursion?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Osaka can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Osaka and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kyoto Day Trip from Osaka Port – Private Shore Excursion start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Osaka within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Osaka?

+

On Outty we rank every Osaka experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hungry Osaka Street Food Tour:15 Tastings & 3 Drinks with a Local, Ultimate Osaka Walking Tour: Castle, Dotonbori, Gems & Lunch, Osaka Castle Walking Tour and Castle Tower Admission. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Osaka?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Osaka?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
