Our Day in Kyoto
The tour was very nice and Hugo was very informative of all the sights we visited. He thought we had more time, but was able to adjust the pace and still get us back to the ship on time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear that Hugo’s explanations helped make the sights more meaningful. Although the pace may have felt a little rushed toward the end, we’re happy he was able to adjust the schedule smoothly and ensure you returned to the ship on time. We truly appreciate your kind feedback.

Half a day tour with a private car and driver/guide in Kyoto.
We were on a Siversea cruise where one of the included tours in Osaka was to take one to Kyoto Station and return 5 hours later. We were both suffering from back problems so long walks and jostling on public transport was not right for us. The cost of a car with guide for 4 hours was eye watering. I searched the internet and found a guide who referred me to another guide. Our driver and guide was Hiroshi Oshima from Kyoto Limo Service. Hiro was great, we had some glitches at the start as I had problems with my phone. Eventually we connected and we saw everything we wanted to and Hiro showed us more on the way. His English is excellent and his explanations were interesting. It was also much cheaper than the ship's offering. We can highly recommend Hiro.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that arranging a private car and guide allowed you to explore comfortably, especially given your situation. Having the flexibility to adjust the pace and see what matters most is something we value, and it’s nice to know the day came together smoothly in the end!

Awesome day tour to Kyoto.
It was a great time for all! Thomas, our guide was amazing! He arrived on time ( actually a bit early) so we got an early start which was great due to the heat. Saw some amazing things in Kyoto, ate a delicious lunch at a restraint he recommended. All was great, highly recommend
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad to hear you enjoyed your day exploring Kyoto with us. In the heat of summer, a private vehicle really does make a big difference — especially when visiting spots like Arashiyama and Fushimi Inari. Thanks again for joining!

Awesome Kyoto Tour
We had an absolutely fantastic time with Thomas on our Kyoto tour. The shrine and zen garden were absolutely beautiful. Had a nice lunch in town and could explore the interesting shops. Explored Gion which was really beautiful and then loved the walk through the Torii gates. Thomas was a fantastic guide. So thoughtful and knowledgeable, he explained everything and made it very interesting for the kids. We really loved it and would highly recommend this tour (as well as Thomas) to anyone.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful experience. Your Kyoto tour sounds like a truly enriching journey from strolling through tranquil shrines and zen gardens, exploring the charming streets of Gion, to walking beneath the iconic Torii gates. It’s a beautiful reflection of Kyoto’s cultural depth and natural elegance. We’re so glad the day provided both a peaceful escape and meaningful exploration for your whole family. These kinds of immersive experiences are what we love to offer where every stop adds a new layer of appreciation for Japan’s heritage. We truly appreciate your recommendation and look forward to helping you create more memorable adventures across Japan.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kyoto Highlights: Arashiyama & Fushimi Inari by Private Car: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Osaka.
How much does Kyoto Highlights: Arashiyama & Fushimi Inari by Private Car cost?
+
Prices start at $602 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Osaka usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kyoto Highlights: Arashiyama & Fushimi Inari by Private Car take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Osaka is not rushed.
Is Kyoto Highlights: Arashiyama & Fushimi Inari by Private Car worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Osaka, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kyoto Highlights: Arashiyama & Fushimi Inari by Private Car?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kyoto Highlights: Arashiyama & Fushimi Inari by Private Car suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kyoto Highlights: Arashiyama & Fushimi Inari by Private Car?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Osaka can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Osaka and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kyoto Highlights: Arashiyama & Fushimi Inari by Private Car start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Osaka within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Osaka?
+
On Outty we rank every Osaka experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hungry Osaka Street Food Tour:15 Tastings & 3 Drinks with a Local, Ultimate Osaka Walking Tour: Castle, Dotonbori, Gems & Lunch, Osaka Castle Walking Tour and Castle Tower Admission. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Osaka?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Osaka?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
