About this experience

Without doubt the town of Kutna Hora in central Bohemia is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the Czech Republic. It lies just 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) east of Prague and is a town with a long and fascinating history. In the 13th and 4th centuries the site became increasingly famous for silver deposits which drew miners and production facilities that would eventually account for as much as a third of all the silver production in Europe. Kutna Hora, was once the second richest city in the Kingdom of Bohemia. The tour of Kutna Hora will not only take you to St Barbara’s Cathedral (the patron saint of miners), the Italian Courtyard, and the Czech Museum of Silver but also to many beautiful gothic, renaissance and baroque townhouses. You will also visit one of the most interesting burial grounds in the world: the Sedlec Ossuary- unique “Bone church”. This church is decorated with the bones of more than 40,000 people who died in the plague and the Hussite wars.

A real recommendation

Very interesting trip with a great tour guide. I made this tour with a couple of friends. We were amazed how well Tatiana knew this town. She's just designed to be a tour guide. She shared a lot of background information with us.

Strange and dangerous behaviour

Quite disappointing trip. We went by bus to Kutná Hora. The bus wasn't in best condition and the driver told me personally that he haven't slept the day before. I was shocked and I told it to Tatiana and she simply laughed about it. Unbelievable

Response from the operator: When your ex is helpless and desperate :-)

How far in advance should I book Kutna Hora: a Private Tour to the Town of Silver and Gothic Architecture?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. +

On Outty we rank every Prague experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best Reviews: Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland Day Trip From Prague, Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland From Prague-Travelers' Choice 2026, Prague Essential Tour Old Town and Jewish Quarter. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Prague?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Prague?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
