A potentially disastrous day saved by the brilliant efforts of Coco from Gogoday.

We arrived early at the meeting point and there was no guide there. Half an hour later a Gogoday guide appeared with another group who pointed out we were not on any of their lists. That guide Coco did a great job of adding us to her tour and looking after us all day. Including getting getter us aboard the scenic train back to Kumamoto. We booked through Viator received WhatsApp messages from Trevatour Travels in Pakistan. Who we tried contacting along with Gogoday as we were wandering around lost for the first hour. The castle was disappointing because there was no guide telling us about it. We couldn’t get close to the crater because of excessive gases on the day.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience you experienced at the start of your tour. Due to an internal error, the Aso Boy scenic train was not successfully reserved for your booking, and we had shared an email regarding this prior to the tour. As we received your response confirming participation, this unfortunately led to a miscalculation in the final arrangements on the day. We truly appreciate your patience in this situation and are especially grateful to hear that Coco from the local team was able to assist you promptly and ensure you could still join the tour and continue your day smoothly. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to her. We also regret that the experience at Kumamoto Castle and Mt. Aso did not fully meet your expectations. Access to the crater is subject to safety restrictions due to volcanic gas conditions, which are beyond our control, but we understand the disappointment. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding. Your feedback is very important to us, and we will continue working to improve our coordination and communication to prevent such situations in the future.

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+
