  3. Poeng Ta Kho (amazing Cliff)

This is big stuff – the actual birthplace of the Angkor Empire. The River of a Thousand Lingas is next – these ancient carvings in the riverbed are absolutely mind-blowing. This viewpoint is exactly what it sounds like. The panoramic views stretch across canyons and forests as far as your eyes can see. Just a short walk from the parking area, but the payoff is incredible.

30 minutes here · Admission included

  4. Preah Ang Thom pagoda

Picture an 8-meter reclining Buddha carved right into the mountainside – we're talking 1,000 years of pilgrims making this exact climb you're about to take. Know before you go

  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The end of March to the end of July is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.
  • Dress code: All visitors are not allowed to wear as shorts as you want for this experience. Please make sure that your knees and shoulders are covered.
  • For small group tour is limited to 14 participants to ensure a more personal experience from our guide.
  • What should to bring: Insect repellent, sunscreen, sun hat.
  • For lunch, there is a vegetarian option like fried rice vegetable with eggs and fried spring rolls, but no vegan option.

Unforgettable Day Trip to Phnom Kulen!

Visiting Phnom Kulen was easily one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Cambodia. This tour is the perfect blend of rich Khmer history, culture, and stunning natural scenery. Why I highly recommend this tour: Sacred Riverbed Carvings: Seeing the Valley of a Thousand Lingas with ancient carvings visible through the crystal-clear water was truly unique and mesmerizing. Preah Ang Thom Pagoda: The massive Reclining Buddha carved directly into a giant sandstone boulder is breathtaking, and the views from the temple are spectacular. The Waterfalls: Ending the day with a refreshing swim in the cool jungle waterfall was the ultimate highlight. Everything was impeccably organized by the tour operator. Our guide was exceptional—friendly, punctual, and deep with knowledge about the history of the Khmer Empire and local spiritual customs. Pickup and transport were seamless and comfortable from start to finish. If you are visiting Siem Reap, do not miss this trip. It’s worth every penny!

Kulen Mountain with Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Small Group Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.

How much does Kulen Mountain with Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Small Group Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $42 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kulen Mountain with Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Small Group Tour take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.

Is Kulen Mountain with Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Small Group Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 93 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1,160 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kulen Mountain with Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Small Group Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kulen Mountain with Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Small Group Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Kulen Mountain with Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Small Group Tour?

+

Around 406 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kulen Mountain with Beng Mealea and Tonle Sap Small Group Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?

+

On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Siem Reap?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
