chaotic & disappointing
very disappointing for the following reasons: - very poor information, even tough we were one time, the boat almost departed without us - tour was massively overbooked- according to the description, there shouldnt be more than 17 passengers, we counted approx. 40 !! 😲 questionable concerning safety - no fresh fruit or "snacks" only sandwiches and WARM coke - the crew was not really interested and engaged at all to provide a good experience - anchoring spot for plankton swimming- was bad- lots of light pollution from ao nang beach, also it was still dusk - only 20 min. for plankton swimming instead of announced 30 min. - not enough life jackets + boat was relatively modern and fast compared to long-tail boats, especially not as noisy + sunset was nice

Very disappointing - liers and not for kids
You go first to Railey Beach where they drop you from 5pm to 650pm and you watch the sunset. Then they take you 10 minutes by boat to see the plancton. You stay maximum 7 minutes in the water. They did tell us we would have life jacket kids size but when we arrived there was none of that. No kids size mask either. We struggled in the water with an oversize life jacket and poor quality/wrong size mask. They finally gave us 3 more minutes to see the plancton after all this time struggling and then that was it. I reached out to them but they didn't answer. Shameful and disppointing . Wouldn't recommend at all with kids. For adults definitely not worth the price.
Response from the operator: We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment you experienced during your tour. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, and we're sorry that our services fell short of your expectations, especially regarding the safety and comfort of the children in your group. We are committed to addressing these issues and improving our offerings. We will ensure that all necessary equipment, including appropriately-sized life jackets and masks, is available for all guests in the future. We sincerely hope you’ll consider giving us another chance to provide you with a memorable and enjoyable experience. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding. If there’s anything more we can do to make it right, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your patience and for helping us better our services.

Luminous plankton
While snorkeling, you could actually see the plankton underwater glowing a bit by moving your own hands.

Award winning cuisine at nightmarket prices in cazy atmosphere
JAAK Cuisine - a really special small restaurant opposite the Kong Ka Pier in Krabi (some 10 minutes walk from town center). Very artistic interior design, with chandeliers and armchais) - feels like being in a private house. Upstairs you can visit a private art collection. The owners (Air and Jom) are very friendly, the service is perfect. Air has 20 years of cooking experience, her dishes are all home made, with fresh ingredients and blend Western, Thai and Chinese style into unique dishes. And they come at ridiculous low prices. For such high cuisine you pay not much more than for a dish at the foodstalls at the night market.

Krabi Ao, nang Bioluminescent plankton by longtail boat: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krabi.
How much does Krabi Ao, nang Bioluminescent plankton by longtail boat cost?
+
Prices start at $900 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krabi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Krabi Ao, nang Bioluminescent plankton by longtail boat take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krabi is not rushed.
Is Krabi Ao, nang Bioluminescent plankton by longtail boat worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 40 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krabi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Krabi Ao, nang Bioluminescent plankton by longtail boat?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Krabi Ao, nang Bioluminescent plankton by longtail boat suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Krabi Ao, nang Bioluminescent plankton by longtail boat?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krabi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krabi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Krabi Ao, nang Bioluminescent plankton by longtail boat start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krabi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Krabi?
+
On Outty we rank every Krabi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Phi Phi Islands Tour with Lunch from Krabi, Phi Phi Early Bird & 4 Islands - Day Tour by Speedboat From Krabi, Railay and 4-Island Sunset Speedboat Cruise with Night Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Krabi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Krabi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
