Mega pressure
Beautiful town but mega busy. All the shops sell the same junk of souvenirs. Too bad.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! We would kindly like to clarify that this review does not appear to relate to our specific Kotor & Lovćen Cable Car tour experience, as we could not locate a booking under this activity and there are currently no other guest comments connected to this tour. Kotor can indeed become very busy during the cruise season, especially as it is one of the most visited UNESCO World Heritage towns on the Adriatic coast. Despite the crowds, its medieval streets, historic architecture, and spectacular setting within Boka Bay continue to make it one of Montenegro’s most unique destinations. While souvenir shops are part of every major tourist destination, the true highlight of Kotor remains its history, atmosphere, ancient walls, and breathtaking panoramic scenery. Guests visiting the Kotor–Lovćen Cable Car usually especially enjoy the incredible panoramic views above Boka Bay, often considered one of the most beautiful bays in Europe. Thank you for visiting Montenegro and sharing your impressions even if you have not been our guest :)

Fantastic tour guide with superb knowledge
I cannot fault this tour. Our guide, Tanja, brought to life the history, culture, social and political contexts of Kotor with examples of the impact on her own family. It felt like we were walking with a friend. She was utterly superb.

Town of great history, cultural and gastronomy
I was absolutely delighted with the city, which makes such a strong impression and makes you feel like you live in a time of knights and merchants. It was also a great pleasure for me to hire a Mont Travelers agency on this trip and meet the wonderful guide Dimitrije without whom I would definitely never experience Kotor in the way he presented me. Fantastic seafood and fish specialties as well as exceptional wines that satisfy everyone's taste. Kotor is definitely a city I'll be glad to return to.
Response from the operator: As a company who cares about our customers opinion, we are happy that you are satisfied with our service and also with diversity of our country.

Superb and unforgettable trip in Montenegro
We joined a two-day trip with Dimitrije to Kotor (with local guide of George), Budva, Ostrog Monastry and Virpazar (Lake Skadar). This is the first time five of us visited Montenegro and we are so happy to have Dimitrije for this lovely country! Dimitrije is friendly, knowledgable, professional and helpful. He is eager to share all information and knowledge about his country with foreigners like us. The arrangement of trips is appropriate and meets (and sometimes beyond) our expectations. When we asked whether he had proposal for a half-day trip after the visit to Ostrog Monastery, he was quick to propose a good suggestion for Virpazar, and made arrangements promptly. In addition, he took us to two good local restaurants with good food and reasonable prices. The guide we had in Kotor, George, is also knowledgeable and keen to answer all question and curiosities. Overall, we had a very good choice, and are pretty sure we would have Dimitrije again next time when we are back to Montenegro again!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kotor Old Town & scenic Cable Car to Lovcen mountain: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kotor.
How much does Kotor Old Town & scenic Cable Car to Lovcen mountain cost?
+
Prices start at $134 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kotor usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kotor Old Town & scenic Cable Car to Lovcen mountain take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kotor is not rushed.
Is Kotor Old Town & scenic Cable Car to Lovcen mountain worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kotor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kotor Old Town & scenic Cable Car to Lovcen mountain?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kotor Old Town & scenic Cable Car to Lovcen mountain suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kotor Old Town & scenic Cable Car to Lovcen mountain?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kotor can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kotor and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kotor Old Town & scenic Cable Car to Lovcen mountain start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kotor within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kotor?
+
On Outty we rank every Kotor experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Great Montenegro Tour-Lovcen NP,Mausoleum Lovcen,River of Crnojevic,Sveti Stefan, Kotor Bay Escape: Blue Cave, Beach & Swimming Time, Exclusive Blue Cave Kotor Swim, Mamula&Lady of the Rock 3 Hour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kotor?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kotor?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
