Kota Kinabalu City Mosque
Situated near the sea, this majestic white mosque boasts similar features to the Nabawi Mosque in Medina. This floating mosque has a prayer hall which houses three madrasahs and accommodates from 9,000 to 12,000 people at a time. By far the largest mosque in Kota Kinabalu, the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque is even possibly the most beautiful one in Malaysia – the man-made lagoon which surrounds it gives a serenely gorgeous and dramatic look to the mosque on a full moon night.

Not much to see in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. It is not tourist-friendly.
Not much to see there. Locals are not friendly. They wanted to charge us for attempting to take a picture with a background of a temple. Told us we have to register first and pay. This was part of a shore excursion we paid for at Norwegian Jewel. What a waste of money!

Don't judge a book by its cover...
Before i begin.. just letting u know that my English sucks.. just bare with me, i try to make my review as interesting as possible :) Here goes.... This is my second solo trip to Sabah. Last time it was only touring alone around Kota Kinabalu city (without any travel agent involve) and now it is time for me to try the outskirt of Sabah. I stumble upon this Masenang Tours & Travel in the same service apartment lobby (Promenade Service Apartment) where i stay in for a night. The staffs are friendly. only 3 person working at the counter. if i remember correctly, it is Mr Chin that assist me and recommends which tour packages that i should take according to my liking. And so... i took the "3D2N Danum Valley Wildlife Reserve Tour" with a tag price of RM3kxx incl air tickets (depart/return).It is quite expensive IMO.. oh well.. hope it payed off!! Story cut short, All the way through, Masenang Tours & their team were in contact with me & keep me in the loop. They organized everything (in one day notice) so well & made me no worries at all before/during & after the trip. All the guides turned up punctually when they were meant to and i had the most fantastic & unforgetable SOLO trip in Sabah!! I payed RM3k++ and it worth every penny!!! If your a nature lover as i am.. visit Danum Valley.. its already synonyms with the word "WIldlife" and "Nature". A great and memorable experience. Trust me.. i've been there! Hats Off to Masenang Travels team! My first experience with a travel agent and i am not dissapointed at all. Really recommended! 4 Thumbs up! Thank You.

Why this scores 47
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kota Kinabalu City Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kota Kinabalu.
How much does Kota Kinabalu City Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $26 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kota Kinabalu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kota Kinabalu City Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kota Kinabalu is not rushed.
Is Kota Kinabalu City Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Kota Kinabalu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kota Kinabalu City Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Kota Kinabalu City Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kota Kinabalu City Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kota Kinabalu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kota Kinabalu and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kota Kinabalu City Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kota Kinabalu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kota Kinabalu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kota Kinabalu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Snorkeling Day Trip, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, Leisure Diving | Fun Dives | 3 Dives in TARP, Kota Kinabalu, Learn to Dive | RAID Open Water 18 Diver Course | Kota Kinabalu. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kota Kinabalu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kota Kinabalu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
