An unforgettable experience for a solo hiker

Thank you so much for an incredible trip up Mount Kinabalu. Doing the Walk the Torq route was easily the best part of the climb. The views were unreal and the gear felt completely secure. As a solo hiker, I felt incredibly well taken care of the entire time. A massive thank you to both of my amazing guides! My mountain guide was fantastic at pacing me to the summit, and my via ferrata guide was professional and made me feel 100% safe on the sheer rock face. I had such a memorable experience that if I have the chance to come back, I definitely want to challenge myself with the long Low's Peak Circuit next time. 💪🏻

Great experience if you want a challenge

Did the tour in June and had a great time despite the rain we had every afternoon. My guide Apson was very good and helped me keep a good pace to make it to the top and back without issues. The via ferrata was a bit challenging as it was my first experience but the instructor was super helpful to keep us safe. The accommodation at pendant hut was clean and the staff very friendly and the food at the restaurant delicious! A challenging experience but altogether very rewarding and the borneo calling team made everything easier with the excellent organisation of the trip.

Always room for a 2nd climb

Wonderful experience with an experienced guide showing us the way and taking care of us. The walk the torq was especially great as I was able to have the guide to myself and a 1 to 1 session definitely made the session much more enjoyable.

    Unforgettable experience

The organisers of our Mount Kinabalu hike which is 'Borneo Calling' did an amazing job from start to finish. Everything was well-coordinated, making the experience smooth, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. From the transportation and accommodation arrangements to the guidance throughout the climb, their planning helped us focus on the journey itself without worrying about the details. A special mention goes to our guide, Peace, whose encouragement and positive energy motivated us during the toughest parts of the hike. He constantly checked on the group, kept everyone motivated, and made sure we were safe while still pushing us to believe in ourselves. His challenge — asking if we could make it to the top — became one of the most memorable parts of the experience because we proudly answered it with a big yes. The organisers created not just a hike, but an unforgettable adventure filled with support, teamwork, and accomplishment. Their professionalism and care made the entire experience even more meaningful, and I’m truly grateful for all their effort in making this journey possible.

How much does 2d1n Mount Kinabalu Via Ferrata - Walk The Torq cost?

    +

Prices start at $980 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kota Kinabalu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2d1n Mount Kinabalu Via Ferrata - Walk The Torq take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kota Kinabalu is not rushed.

Is 2d1n Mount Kinabalu Via Ferrata - Walk The Torq worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 109 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Kota Kinabalu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2d1n Mount Kinabalu Via Ferrata - Walk The Torq?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 2d1n Mount Kinabalu Via Ferrata - Walk The Torq suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

    +

Around 38 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kota Kinabalu and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Kota Kinabalu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kota Kinabalu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Snorkeling Day Trip, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, Learn to Dive | RAID Open Water 18 Diver Course | Kota Kinabalu, Leisure Diving | Fun Dives | 3 Dives in TARP, Kota Kinabalu. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kota Kinabalu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kota Kinabalu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
