Price / performance well
We decided to go on exactly this tour because it was expected to take longer than the others. The description states: 2h Koh Tan + 4h Koh Madsum. This did not correspond to reality: we had 40 minutes to snorkel off Koh Tan from the boat. We were not on the island itself. Afterwards we went over to Koh Madsum (stay about 2.5h). Where the idiots romped around the pigs and held their phone cameras to within a few inches of their faces. They ran after the pigs, patted them all the time and screamed in terror when one of the animals moved in their direction... as so often, man is the problem here. You can also observe the animals from a distance without penetrating them. The food was good and sufficient. There was water. You can't expect miracles, though. We walked to the View Point afterwards. The site was much calmer and more relaxed. There is also a small secluded stretch of beach there that we liked a lot. The crew was very nice and tried (earned tips) and the boat (small speedboat, 13 passengers) was also great.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the boat, the friendliness of our crew, and that the food provided during the trip met your expectations. Your kind words about our team are greatly appreciated, and we will be happy to share your compliments with them. We also appreciate your comments regarding the timing of the stops during the tour. The duration at each location can sometimes vary depending on sea conditions. Your feedback is very important to us and will help us review how we present the itinerary to ensure clearer expectations for our guests. Thank you as well for sharing your thoughts about respecting the animals on the island. We completely agree that observing wildlife responsibly is very important, and we always encourage our guests to treat the animals and their environment with care. Thank you again for visiting us and for sharing your experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team

Not a good experience
In the boat we were 40 people (instead of 15 as said by the guide). It was a speedboat and not the long tail. Snorkeling was terrible there were no fishes. Pig island instead is really nice.

Pig Island!
Pick up and drop off service was super helpful, boat ride was quick and nice, Pig island was so fun and cute, and the food was good. If you want ALL day snorkeling though, Pig Island is not for you. You mostly just relax there.

Highly recommend this tour
Our tour guide and ้his team were good fun, the views were great and we managed to see a few Dolphins, before heading to pig island, we then went back to the main shore for a very questionable Thai buffet. The buffet is to feed several different tours so the food is just sitting there in the heat, apart from this I would highly recommend this tour.

Koh Tan and Koh Madsum Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Koh Samui.
How much does Koh Tan and Koh Madsum Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui cost?
+
Prices start at $1667 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Koh Samui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Koh Tan and Koh Madsum Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Koh Samui is not rushed.
Is Koh Tan and Koh Madsum Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Koh Samui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Koh Tan and Koh Madsum Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Koh Tan and Koh Madsum Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Koh Tan and Koh Madsum Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Koh Samui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Koh Samui and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Koh Tan and Koh Madsum Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Koh Samui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Koh Samui?
+
On Outty we rank every Koh Samui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angthong National Marine Park VIP Small Group Tour, Cooking Class in Koh Samui with Micro Organic Garden, Half Day Elephant Home Sanctuary in Samui. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Koh Samui?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Koh Samui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
