Underwhelming
Average experience, no advice given with regards to how to snorkel if you have never done before. Limited views of coral and extremely average lunch provided if you were vegetarian plus it was all outside and not covered so flies everywhere Pig island was very touristy and crowded, filthy onsite toilets and not at all like it looked on the photos for advertising

A must do in Koh Samui.
After reading some reviews we were a little unsure as to whether we should book this trip. However we are so glad that we did as it was a very good experience from start to finish with our tour guides Happy Samui. The staff on the boat were attentive, smiled throughout and were helpful, offering to take photographs and reassuring passengers who were somewhat anxious about travelling by boat. Our lunch was basic but tasty . The pigs seemed happy and content though appreciated us giving them some water, some were greedier than others and they appeared very relaxed around tourists, not in any distress. We took water for the pigs with us after reading other peoples reviews and glad that we did. Well worth the visit to this island, a lovely afternoon spent.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed and thoughtful review. We’re truly delighted to hear that you decided to join the trip and had a very positive experience from start to finish. It’s wonderful to know that our boat team made you feel comfortable and well cared for. Your kind words about their attentiveness and friendliness mean a great deal to us. Thank you again for your balanced and encouraging feedback. We hope to welcome you again for another memorable island experience in the future. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team

Not a tour, just a charter.
The "tour" was outsourced to Funny Day which we were avoiding from their other reviews. There was no real guide, just people to take you from placed to place, no information given, no description of what was happening, you just had to go with it. We were picked up with others quite early to go to one pier, waited an hour only to then be driven another hour to the complete other side of the island for our half day tour with people who were already there waiting with us from the beginning. One main staff member spoke English well enough to make jokes and generally tell us what was happening next. "This is Pig Island, we'll be here two hours then lunch". But the tour didn't run as per itinerary so we went and spent a boring 2 hours on Pig Island where you can't walk too far, just in a specific part of the island with pigs, and pig faeces. We could only kayak for 20 mins, not sure why. There was nothing to do. Then a bland lunch right before going 15 mins to another area to snorkel immediately after eating. Snorkelling was fine, there were some fish that came when fed. Then we went back. Trip was unnecessarily long and not very fulfilling.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand your frustration regarding the outsourcing of the tour, the lack of clear guiding and explanations, and the significant amount of waiting and travel time involved. Your feedback is extremely valuable and will be shared with our management team and the operator involved for review, particularly regarding tour structure, communication, activity timing, and overall quality control. We appreciate your honesty, as it helps us identify areas that require improvement. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope there may be an opportunity to better serve you in the future. Best Regards, Tawan Oh-Hoo Team

Snorkelling trip??
Exactly as expected! Pig Island….well it’s a beautiful spot but what do pigs do? They s**t and p••s constantly, especially when the public are feeding them all day!! 🤣🤣 A complete circus and the stupid people are in the sea petting them swishing around in their sewage!! That aside, the tour staff were incredibly polite and accommodating, making sure everyone was looked after. Lunch was nice and plenty of it too. We had a short time kayaking which got us away from the pigs••t. Had to laugh as the majority seemed to enjoy this 🤣 Snorkelling was at 2nd stop and was only for 20 mins or so. The trip was described as a snorkelling trip so was a bit disappointed. Think carefully if you would like a “finer” day out to this beautiful area.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re very pleased to hear that you were well taken care of by our team and enjoyed the service and lunch during the trip. Regarding Pig Island, that it is part of a local community experience, and the atmosphere may differ from one guest’s expectations to another. We sincerely apologize if this did not align with what you had anticipated. We also appreciate your comment about the snorkeling time, and we will review the itinerary details to help ensure clearer expectations for future guests. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future. Best Regards, Oh-hoo Team

Koh Madsum and Koh Tan Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Koh Samui.
How much does Koh Madsum and Koh Tan Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui cost?
+
Prices start at $1474 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Koh Samui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Koh Madsum and Koh Tan Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Koh Samui is not rushed.
Is Koh Madsum and Koh Tan Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Koh Samui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Koh Madsum and Koh Tan Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Koh Madsum and Koh Tan Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Koh Madsum and Koh Tan Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Koh Samui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Koh Samui and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Koh Madsum and Koh Tan Snorkeling Trip By Speedboat From Koh Samui start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Koh Samui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Koh Samui?
+
On Outty we rank every Koh Samui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angthong National Marine Park VIP Small Group Tour, Cooking Class in Koh Samui with Micro Organic Garden, Half Day Elephant Home Sanctuary in Samui. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Koh Samui?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Koh Samui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
