A Wonderful Wildlife Experience for the Whole Family
We really enjoyed this tour! Seeing so many kangaroos and even spotting koalas in the wild, rather than in a zoo, was definitely the highlight for us. Peter was very knowledgeable and patient, and he was able to answer all the questions my kids had. The rainforest walk was also a new adventure for our family. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit too cold for us to see many animals, but Peter spent time teaching us about the different trees and plants along the way, which turned out to be very interesting too. The pick-up was right on time and everything was well organised. I definitely think the tour was worth the money. Having an experienced guide made the whole experience much more interesting and enjoyable than simply visiting these places by ourselves. Would definitely recommend!

Great Tour, Wonderful Experience
We had such a great time on our guided hike with Gold Coast Rainforest Tours. Our guide, Peter, was amazing! He picked us up from our hotel on time, and was both friendly and professional. He gave us plenty of time to take pictures and was so determined to find the best views of the koalas, wallabies, and glow worms (also, bonus leaf tailed gecko). Peter was so informative and easy going, we learned so much about the native flora and fauna and even some history of the local townships from him. None of the hikes were too strenuous, but still fun and interesting. The vehicle was also roomy, clean, and comfortable. My wife and I have already been telling our friends back home to look up Peter and Gold Coast Rainforest Tours if they ever vacation in Australia, and I'm happy to leave a positive review for such a great experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the kind and encouraging words! Glad that the outing was so enjoyable!

Glowingly good adventure!
Came on a day tour with Gold Coast Rainforest Tours last time I was on the GC and this time went for one of their night tours and it didn't disappoint! Saw 3 koalas, heard one performing its mating call which was fun! Last time I saw 6 or 7 waterfalls on the day tour, this time saw 2 (one at night) which were both different to what I saw last time. Saw a heap of glow worms at one of the waterfalls and some close to the path, some frogs, spiders and geckos. Exceeded my expectations again! They also honoured a 20% discount for being a return customer from 7 years ago which was nice!

Amazing & diverse nature & wildlife experience
I was trying to find a glow worms tour, but couldn't find any availability last minute. I found this which was much the same price but also visited koalas & kangaroos. I wasn't expecting to actually see any but we actually saw 4! I'm Australian and have seen heaps of roos, but it was nice to see so many and really close to the trail, it was only my 2nd time seeing a wild koala so it was a nice treat! After that we drove into the rainforest and saw a waterfall before dusk and then went for a walk to see the glow worms. The guide found a couple of geckos which I definitely wouldn't have seen otherwise and pointed out a few cool things in the rainforest. The glow worms were quite magical next to a waterfall, in a really small group (was only 5 of us) Definitely worth the few extra bucks instead of just the glow worms tour, excellent value for money comparatively, would recommend it for anyone!

An Amazing Nature Experience!
This experience was amazing and quickly become a highlight of my trip to the Gold Coast! The small group size made everything feel personal and relaxed. Pete was friendly, super knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the rainforest and wildlife. He was so respectful of the environment and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had an amazing time. The whole tour was perfectly paced, incredibly well organised and felt authentic rather than rushed or overly touristy, something I often find with the bigger group tours. We were lucky enough to see kangaroos, koalas, birds, frogs and even snakes! It’s such a privilege to see them in their natural habitat. Pete did a fantastic job of spotting koalas for us! The glow worms rainforest walk was a definite highlight. Walking through the darkened rainforest seeing the glow worms in their natural environment was genuinely breathtaking and something i’ll never forget. I’d highly recommend this tour!
Response from the operator: Thanks for the warming feedback, I'm glad it was so special for you! Reviews like this make an amazing job even more worthwhile!

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Koalas, Glow Worms & Kangaroos - Nature & Rainforest Walk: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gold Coast.
How much does Koalas, Glow Worms & Kangaroos - Nature & Rainforest Walk cost?
+
Prices start at $109 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gold Coast usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Koalas, Glow Worms & Kangaroos - Nature & Rainforest Walk take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gold Coast is not rushed.
Is Koalas, Glow Worms & Kangaroos - Nature & Rainforest Walk worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Gold Coast, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Koalas, Glow Worms & Kangaroos - Nature & Rainforest Walk?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Koalas, Glow Worms & Kangaroos - Nature & Rainforest Walk suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Koalas, Glow Worms & Kangaroos - Nature & Rainforest Walk?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gold Coast can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gold Coast and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Koalas, Glow Worms & Kangaroos - Nature & Rainforest Walk start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gold Coast within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Gold Coast?
+
On Outty we rank every Gold Coast experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2 Hour Ultimate Learn to Surf Adventure, Gold Coast Whale Watching Cruise, Whale Watching by Sea World Cruises. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Gold Coast?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Gold Coast?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
