    1. World Heritage Kinderdijk

Our first stop for the day will be at the unique UNESCO world heritage Kinderdijk windmills. A system of windmills and pumps has been draining the water from the polder soil into the river for centuries. Over the years, the systems were improved, combining human wits, technology, and nature to work together to keep our feet dry, already for over 700 years! Admire the 19 original windmills in their stunning historical environment. You can enter a working mill to discover the personal stories of the millers and/or take a cruise for a better view from the water!

    2. Delft

The sights of Delft, with its canals, gables, and towers, are extremely picturesque. The town is a lot smaller than Amsterdam, but just as pretty (and most important: with less tourists). Delft is home of the world-famous Delft Blue pottery and a visit to the factory, where you can see the process of making the beautiful pottery, is included. After that, you will have time to explore the city center on your own or with our experienced guide to tag along, just as you please. See the famous churches and marketplace, home to Vermeer. As it is your day out, we can custom tailor the tour upon your wishes. In Delft there will be time to have lunch as well.

    3. Royal Delft - Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles

We visit the factory and flagship store of the famous royal Delft china. See the painters at work and enough time to buy your precious souvenirs for home!

    Absolutely worth doing!

Fabulous! Eva, our guide, was phenomenal! Only 3 in our group, so essentially it was a private tour. And I’d easily do it again - or any other tour Eva leads!

Must do day trip, with excellent guide.

In depth tour providing highlights of the areas visited going into detail based on the group’s interests. Eva took exceptional care of us enriching our brains and souls. She really knew how to cater to each of us.

Response from the operator: Rhonda! It was such a pleasure spending a fantastic day with you all! Thank you very much for your very kind review. Hopefully we'll meet again some day. Until then: all the best to all four of you! Best regards, Eva - Dutch Tours

    Kinderdijk and Deld

The tour was very good. The boat ride to see the windmills at Kinderdijk was nice. We had time to explore Delf on our own. After Delf, we went to the Pottery Museum. That was very interesting. This was the second tour that I took with Dutch Tours this year.

These are the windmills you’re looking for

If you want to see authentic windmills, this is the place you want to be. This small group tour offers you a way to tour this incredible UNESCO Heritage site in a relaxed environment pretty much set at your own pace. Our tour guide was very informative with content and entertained all our questions. The historic area of the city of Delft is idyllic with shops and restaurants for every flavor.

Kinderdijk Windmills and Delft Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does Kinderdijk Windmills and Delft Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam cost?

    +

Prices start at $225 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kinderdijk Windmills and Delft Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

Is Kinderdijk Windmills and Delft Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kinderdijk Windmills and Delft Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kinderdijk Windmills and Delft Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kinderdijk Windmills and Delft Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kinderdijk Windmills and Delft Small-Group Tour from Amsterdam start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
