Gouda day trip
Steve was a fantastic tour guide! He was a world of knowledge on the history of the area, knew where to get the best stroopwafels and cheese, and provided us with a wonderful experience that we will always remember fondly.
Response from the operator: Dear Teresa, Thank you so much you took the time to write this awesome review. We want to offer an experience, much more than an ordinairy private tour. Steve enjoyed it a lot with you and your family also. I pass the message to him and hope to see you back again. Take care, Marlou Baets

Great for kids!
Our tour with Steven was wonderful! He was very patient with my family and two young kids! We also made trips to the farm and windmills! We are so grateful to him and learned an incredible amount of history of Gouda! Thank you Steven!
Response from the operator: Dear Nikita, Thank you so much you took the time to write this wonderful review. Perfect day out
Cheese! Stroopwaffel! History! Everything we wanted from a great tour. We had a great time walking around Gouda and visiting a farm where we got some amazing (and cheep) cheese as well. Perfect trip to see the country and enjoy some non-city time.
Response from the operator: Dear Jared, Thank you so much you took the time to write this wonderful review. We were happy to show and guide you through our small country for a day. It's our goal to offer our guests an experience instead of just a private tour. I pass the message to Steven. Take care, Marlou Baets

Exactly what we wanted!
Steven was fantastic and the tour was exactly what we wanted. A comfortable car ride in the country side, expert guidance on Gouda and Oudewater, and a working dairy farm with the best cheese and ice cream ever. Steven is a perfect guide and provides a ton of local context on the locale. Context we have 2 teenage daughters who enjoyed the trip, each with their own favorite from the cheese to the witch museum. For the record, my youngest is not a witch. Oldest refused to take the test...
Response from the operator: Dear I, Thank you so much you took the time to write this wonderful review. I'm happy to read that you enjoyed our Gouda & Witches tour, we want to offer our guests an experience, much more than just a private tour. I will pass the message to Steve! Take care, Marlou Baets

I had high hopes, and they were all exceeded
So many people seem to never get outside of the big cities in the Netherlands. Those people never get to see these two gems of cities. Even during a high period of tourism, these two cities were not overrun by tourists. We got to see both in their stunning charm. The history of these towns is overwhelming. Learning about the history and tragedy of "witches" and how they were "weighed" to test if they were light enough to ride a broom... and the consequences if they were indeed light enough... was sobering. Visiting a working dairy farm and trying (and buying) exceptional cheese directly from them is worth the trip by itself. And of course, trying a freshly made stroopwafel straight from the iron is quite a treat. Our guide was outstanding. Highly knowledgeable, able to work with my mother who has some mobility issues, and great to talk to. This trip is a must-do for anyone who has a full day to spend in the Netherlands.
Response from the operator: Dear W, Thank you so much for your wonderfull review. We want to offer an experience, instead of just a private tour. Steve also had a nice time with you'all as he informed me. Great, that's how it should be ! Take care and hope to see you back again in Amsterdam. Marlou Baets

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kinderdijk Windmills, Gouda City & Cheese Farm visit: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.
How much does Kinderdijk Windmills, Gouda City & Cheese Farm visit cost?
+
Prices start at $378 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kinderdijk Windmills, Gouda City & Cheese Farm visit take?
+
Plan for about 7.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.
Is Kinderdijk Windmills, Gouda City & Cheese Farm visit worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kinderdijk Windmills, Gouda City & Cheese Farm visit?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kinderdijk Windmills, Gouda City & Cheese Farm visit suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kinderdijk Windmills, Gouda City & Cheese Farm visit?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 7.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kinderdijk Windmills, Gouda City & Cheese Farm visit start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?
+
On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amsterdam?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
