The Lemosho Route is considered the most scenic trail on Mt Kilimanjaro, granting panoramic vistas on the western, southern, and eastern sides of the mountain. As one of the newer routes, Lemosho is a superb choice for your climb. It is our preferred route due to its ideal balance of beautiful scenery, good acclimatization, and a high summit success rate. Most of our clients who have used Lemosho Route have rated this route as excellent. The trek begins at Londorossi Gate, located on the western side of the mountain at an altitude of 2360 meters. The route takes you through a majestic rainforest where some of the region’s most unique wildlife can often be seen. The route continues up to the lowest of Kilimanjaro's 3 dormant volcanoes at Shira Ridge. Lemosho Route is a long route and we recommend an 8 days itinerary.

An incredible 8-day Lemosho experience with an outstanding team

We completed the 8-day Lemosho Route on Kilimanjaro with Kili Fortune Expeditions , and I can confidently say that the team played a huge part in making the experience as memorable as it. From the beginning, everything on the mountain was well organized. The guides were professional, experienced and genuinely invested in getting everyone up the mountain safely. They monitored how we were feeling throughout the trek, kept a sensible pace, and knew when to encourage us and when to slow things down. As we gained altitude, their experience and attention became even more valuable. What stood out most, though, was the entire mountain crew. The porters, cooks and guides worked incredibly hard every single day, often arriving at camp ahead of us and having everything ready by the time we got there. After long and tiring days of hiking, having a proper meal and a well-organized camp waiting for us made a huge difference. The food was surprisingly good considering the conditions and altitude. Summit night really showed the quality of the guiding team. It is a physically and mentally demanding night, and having calm, experienced people beside us made a massive difference. They kept the group moving steadily, watched everyone closely and supported us all the way toward Uhuru Peak. Beyond the logistics and professionalism, what made the trip special was the atmosphere the crew created. There was plenty of singing, laughing and encouragement along the way, and by the end of eight days it felt much less like we had simply hired an operator and much more like we had shared the mountain with a team. Kilimanjaro is an incredible mountain, but the people you climb it with can completely shape the experience. We came for the summit, but some of the memories I value most are from the days spent together on the trail and at camp. A huge thank you to the guides, porters, cooks and everyone behind the scenes who supported our group throughout the 8-day Lemosho Route. You helped turn a challenging expedition into an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you Sanga, Godwin, Emmanuel, Sandro, Pantaleo and to each and every member of the team. Highly recommended for anyone considering Kilimanjaro, especially the Lemosho Route.

10 out of 10 Kilimanjaro Machame Experience

What an unforgettable experience! Our climb of Mount Kilimanjaro via the 6-day Machame route was so much more than just a physical challenge. It was a journey filled with incredible moments, personal growth, authentic local experiences, and most importantly, amazing people. A huge thank you to our fantastic guides Gasper and Denis. Your knowledge, professionalism, patience, and endless mental support helped us through every difficult moment. You always knew when we needed extra encouragement, a laugh, or simply a reminder to enjoy the journey. Thanks to you, we felt safe, confident, and supported from the first step until the summit. We also want to give a massive thank you to our incredible porters Rafael, Lvini, Samuel, Emanuel, George, Razak, and Wilson. Your hard work, positive energy, smiles, and kindness made this entire adventure possible. You carried much more than our equipment — you carried our motivation, our spirits, and the incredible atmosphere that made this climb so special. You turned a group of travelers into a family, and we already miss you. A special thank you to our amazing chef Frank. The meals you prepared on the mountain were beyond our expectations. Every day, you surprised us with delicious food, prepared with so much care and dedication, giving us the energy we needed for the challenges ahead. We also want to express our sincere appreciation to Erasto Sanga. Thank you for offering a fair price, being completely transparent about the costs and expenses, and for your openness about the salaries of the team. It gave us great confidence knowing that the people who work so hard to make this experience possible are treated fairly and valued. What made this journey truly unforgettable was the connection and warmth of the entire team. You were not just our guides, porters, and crew. You became our family. The conversations, laughter, support, and shared moments along the way will stay with us forever. Asante sana for everything. We hope to see you all again one day and will never forget this incredible adventure or the wonderful people who made it possible. ❤️

    JUST AMAZING!

I had the most incredible experience climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and it wouldn't have been possible without the amazing team at this agency. From the moment I met guide - Sanga, - I felt welcomed and safe. The whole group embraced me like family and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire tour. Their dedication and hard work were evident every step of the way. The entire team went above and beyond to make my experience unforgettable, and their hard work didn't go unnoticed. I can't thank them enough for their efforts. Sanga, my guide, was a true gem. His vast knowledge and professionalism made the trek informative and enjoyable. I particularly loved his music box, which lifted our spirits during the hikes. He checked my oxygen levels and well-being regularly and adjusted the schedule according to my pace and condition. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to reach Uhuru Peak, an awe-inspiring moment that will forever remain etched in my memory. When I finished the hike earlier than expected, Sanga arranged a trip to the Chemka hotsprings in Moshi. He took my budget into consideration since I am a student and solo traveler. He arranged a rented bike for me at ABC bicycle at a great price and joined me on the bike ride to the hotsprings. His professionalism and caring nature made me feel safe and well taken care of throughout the trip. I would wholeheartedly recommend all of them to anyone seeking an adventure in Tanzania. Their dedication, hard work, and genuine care made my journey unforgettable. I feel immensely grateful and cherish the memories created during this exceptional adventure. Asante sana!

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
