What you get

    About this experience

This private charter is designed for a relaxed, flexible day on the water, perfect for groups who want a casual, unstructured experience. Instead of a formal, guided eco-tour, this trip offers a more laid-back vibe, allowing you to create your own adventure. Connect with Key West's abundant wildlife as you cruise the waters in search of our resident coastal dolphins. From there, we'll head to a secluded sandbar, a pristine shallow-water oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tranquility. This tour is ideal for those who prefer to relax and socialize. Spend your time floating, swimming, or simply lounging with a cold beverage in hand. While snorkeling is an option, it is not a guided activity on this trip, making it perfect for guests who are more interested in a leisurely day on the water than a structured snorkel excursion. We'll provide a snack of fresh, organic fruit from Date & Thyme, and the trip is BYOB so you can bring your favorite drinks.

    Perfect afternoon in the Keys!

Super easy to book. Great directions to the boat and for checking in, what to bring. Loved being on a small tour- 15 of us that day. From first time to experienced snorkelers, first mate Charlie and Captain Mo took great care of us all. The tour promised 3 stops- and being a small company they decided our itinerary order and specific locations based on this afternoon’s weather- giving us a calm snorkel in a nursery area, time in the “dolphins’ playground”, and ending with relaxing in waist deep water on a sandbar 7miles off the coast- being served our veggies and hummus while we relaxed in the water! Thanks Captain Mo! Our crew had tremendous knowledge of the area, the animals, and a clear love of and respect for this beautiful habitat.

You don’t be disappointed! Book it!!

Here’s a polished review you can use: We had an amazing experience with Honest Eco Tours! Abby in the office provided excellent communication throughout the booking process and was incredibly helpful and accommodating when changes to our schedule were needed. Captain Andrew was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable about both the history of the area and the local marine life, which made the trip even more enjoyable and educational. You could truly feel his passion for sailing, and his enthusiasm made the experience special. Andrew took us to several incredible snorkeling spots, each offering something unique and beautiful. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Honest Eco Tours—and especially Captain Andrew—to anyone looking for an unforgettable day on the water.

Bast snorkeling and wildlife viewing tour in Florida!

The Florida Keys are a beautiful and unique location, full of great food and amazing things to see and do. Captain Andrew and Sara took us on the best snorkeling adventure I’ve ever had. Along with watching dolphins, and a stop at a sandbar where you can stand in the warm water and marvel at the sea all around you for miles. We were treated to fresh fruit as we were relaxing in the water and reflecting on our wonderful experience. The boat was clean, the gear was well maintained and it was all around a fantastic experience. 10/10

    We love Libby!

Our family booked a private boat tour with Libby, and can’t say enough positive things! She was able to find great snorkel spots for us based on the conditions that day, and even pointed out some neat marine life for us. She was incredibly kind and friendly, very knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does.

    Awesome Captain

The Captain made this a great experience by explaining all the sites and answering all our questions about the area and more. He provided snacks of fresh fruits and vegetables along with hummus. He ensured we had a great time. Loved his dog “Piper” as well. Thanks

Key West Private Charter: Sandbar and Snorkeling: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key West.

How much does Key West Private Charter: Sandbar and Snorkeling cost?

    +

Prices start at $950 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key West usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Key West Private Charter: Sandbar and Snorkeling take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key West is not rushed.

Is Key West Private Charter: Sandbar and Snorkeling worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Key West, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Key West Private Charter: Sandbar and Snorkeling?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Key West Private Charter: Sandbar and Snorkeling suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Key West Private Charter: Sandbar and Snorkeling?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key West can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key West and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Key West Private Charter: Sandbar and Snorkeling start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key West within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Key West?

    +

Key West is a boat town. The only living coral barrier reef in the continental US sits seven miles offshore, and reef trips, sunset catamarans and backcountry kayak runs are the core bookings, alongside Hemingway house and Duval history walks. Our ranking weighs boat capacity and reef site rotation, which separates the good operators from the party cruises. On Outty we rank every Key West experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Shark and Wildlife Viewing Adventure in Key West, Southernmost Food & Cultural Walking Tour by Key West Food Tours, Half-Day Trip from Key West with Kayaking, Snorkeling & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Key West?

    +

December to April, dry season and calm reef water. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Key West?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
