Far from cruise port but overall great experience

Shane the tour guide was fantastic. There is a boating test required that isn't well publicized so take it in advance. The owner wasn't warm and welcoming but the other employees were amazing.

    Not recommended!!

Horrible experience with the instructor STROTHER. He was extremely rude and disrespectful towards our group and used abusive language as well. While we were expecting to have a memorable experience for a lifetime, rather it became a traumatic nightmare.

Terrible experience at Ibis Bay Watersports

Incompetent, Unprofessional and Disrespectful. That's what we found the Guide (a guy named "Strother") at Ibis Bay Watersports to be! What should have been a fun experience for our family was completely ruined by this obnoxious person. From the beginning, Strother had a condescending attitude coated with holier-than-thou sarcasm that worsened into something utterly objectionable during our tour. He was mad that all his customers were not Jet Ski "pros" and continued to make snarky remarks about their "lack of expertise" with PWCs. Never mind that his own instructions for the group were flimsy and incomplete - in fact, he didn't even cover emergency guidelines (that are legally mandated) before the tour started. Our chagrin turned into horror when he started to use abusive language with ladies that were having trouble with their Jet Ski - when their craft overturned under inclement weather conditions (strong winds and choppy waters), Strother's reaction was a nasty "What the f*** are you doing?"! Then, when the ladies were trying to park their Jet Ski after the harrowing ordeal, Strother grew impatient and literally jumped on them to demonstrate how to park the craft - no "let me help you do this", no "sorry I had to jump on your back", nothing!! What a JERK! Not sure what Tony (owner) and Mark (manager) are thinking, but Ibis Bay Watersports is inviting customer ill will and potential corrective actions by having Guides like Strother. Strongly advise that you avoid this place - unless you want to experience repugnant, demeaning behavior.

    It was a horrible experience

I would absolutely not recommend Ibis Bay and Watersports. We went to Key West this December and were expecting to have a fun experience with Jet Ski, so we chose Ibis Bay based on Google reviews. The instructor STROTHER was not welcoming right from the beginning, he was continuously trying to demotivate us by mentioning multiple injuries, broken bones and limbs. Moreover he did not give us any instructions to cope up with any adverse situation. My friend and I were on the same boat, and we were initially struggling a little to sail through the choppy water. Instead of encouraging us, STROTHER started misbehaving with us using abusive language and disrespectful gestures. And then towards the end our boat got flipped down due extreme wind and strong waves, and he was extremely angry and rude towards us instead of helping and guiding us through the rest of the trip. And this was not the end. At the end of the trip when we were trying to park the boat, he suddenly jumped behind us into the boat with a very uncomfortable position and without asking if we were comfortable or not. It ended up as a nightmare (after spending $500+) while we thought it’s gonna be an enjoyable experience for a lifetime.

Ibis water sport Key West -the worse experience ever

We faced absolutely awful and terrible treatments by the facility/tourguide during our jet ski tour on Dec 28th .The tour guide named Strother was extremely unprofessional and rude throughout the tour. Right from the beginning he was misbehaving with us and very disrespectful. Apparently he was unwilling to provide and assist us during the trip . The safety instructions were not provided properly. The situation worsened when he used abusive languages multiple times and showed his anger during the tour. Without being polite and respectful to the ladies he was being extremely rude ,arrogant and disrespectful. The overall experience was absolutely horrendous primarily because of the stupid guide STROTHER. The owner should immediately take an action against him. Wouldn’t recommend any one to try their facility at all:(

Key West Island Jetski Tour: Double Passenger Jetski: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key West.

How much does Key West Island Jetski Tour: Double Passenger Jetski cost?

    +

Prices start at $180 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key West usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Key West Island Jetski Tour: Double Passenger Jetski take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key West is not rushed.

Is Key West Island Jetski Tour: Double Passenger Jetski worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 35 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.1/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Key West, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Key West Island Jetski Tour: Double Passenger Jetski?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Key West Island Jetski Tour: Double Passenger Jetski suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Key West Island Jetski Tour: Double Passenger Jetski?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key West can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key West and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Key West Island Jetski Tour: Double Passenger Jetski start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key West within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Key West?

    +

Key West is a boat town. The only living coral barrier reef in the continental US sits seven miles offshore, and reef trips, sunset catamarans and backcountry kayak runs are the core bookings, alongside Hemingway house and Duval history walks. Our ranking weighs boat capacity and reef site rotation, which separates the good operators from the party cruises. On Outty we rank every Key West experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Shark and Wildlife Viewing Adventure in Key West, Southernmost Food & Cultural Walking Tour by Key West Food Tours, Half-Day Trip from Key West with Kayaking, Snorkeling & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Key West?

    +

December to April, dry season and calm reef water. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Key West?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
