Epic wildlife tour and kayaking tour.
Wow! We had an epic tour! Everyone, from the time that we checked in until we disembarked was awesome! Captain Brent, Matt, Maggie, and Amanda were all passionate and knowledgeable about all things Kenai Fjords! We learned something from each of them. Their enthusiasm made the trip special.

FANTASTIC!
FANTASTIC! The guides were smart, friendly and helpful. The captain was excellent. Our kayaking by Holgate Glacier was magical. And the wildlife we saw on the boat ride returning to Seward was PHENOMENAL! We saw puffins, bald eagles, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, sea otters, a large black bear, transient orcas, and a large humpback whale with her calf. The calf was breaching and fin slapping non-stop!! So amazing. The orcas we spotted followed our boat toward the humpback and her calf. It was pretty intense — even our guides and the captain were so excited as we watched the orcas get right up to the humpbacks! Luckily, the mama humpback was too intimidating and the orcas eventually decided to swim away. Such a beautiful adventure of a day. Kendall & Chloe and the whole crew were top-notch.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We're thrilled to hear that your day on the water was so memorable. Seeing Holgate Glacier by kayak is always special, but the incredible wildlife encounters you described truly make for a once-in-a-lifetime Alaska adventure. Puffins, sea otters, harbor seals, Steller sea lions, bald eagles, a black bear, transient orcas, and a humpback whale with her calf all in one day is remarkable. Watching the interaction between the orcas and the humpbacks is something even our crew never takes for granted. I'll be sure to share your kind words with Kendall, Chloe, the captain, and the rest of the team. They are passionate about creating safe, informative, and unforgettable experiences, and I know they'll appreciate hearing how much their efforts meant to you. Thank you again for choosing Sunny Cove Kayaking. We hope to welcome you back to Seward for another adventure in the future. Stephanie C. Great experience in Seward!
What a great experience!! My son and I did the full day wild life boat ride and glacier kayak tour. We left at 7:30a and returned at 4:30p- it was a great way to spend a day!! Our tour guides- Kendel and Maggie were fantastic- super fun and informative. The boat team- Josh and Monica were also fantastic. I would highly recommend this as a Seward adventure.

The Grand Day combo is one of my favorite ways to experience Kenai Fjords, and I'm thrilled it lived up to your expectations. 🛶🐋 I'll be sure to share your kind words with Kendel, Maggie, Josh, and Monica. They work hard to make every trip fun, informative, and unforgettable. Thank you again for your recommendation, and I hope to welcome you both back to Seward for another adventure! Stephanie C. What a Grand Day!!!
We had an amazing time with the crew, Demi and Tyler were the kayak guides, Danny the deckhand and captain Joshua, they were knowledgeable, informative, safe and conscientious throughout the entire trip. All the equipment seemed to be in great condition. The boat that took us out to the glacier was like new and very clean and comfortable, and the crew were safe and well qualified. They provided ample time for us to view wildlife from the boat and were just a radio call away incase anything came up and were needed in an emergency. The guides worked very hard, constantly keeping an eye out for wildlife and directing our attention to catch a close up view. They were also very aware of respecting the wildlife and letting us know how close we can get while still being able to enjoy seeing everything with the least amount of impact possible. They constantly kept tabs on our comfort level, gave us all kinds of information about our surroundings, the habitat we were in, the animals we were seeing, all the while keeping us safe from other boats, animals, icebergs, currents, etc, and keeping track of our time and place on the water. Basically they did an amazing job. As for the food and snacks... there were snacks on the boat that were yummy, quick, easy and hit the spot. The lunch that was provided was spot on! From the delicious "Hot" soup (totally unexpected) to the wraps and sides, everything was delicious and there was plenty to eat. We saw so much wildlife, and were so close to it all, the trip was definitely a trip of a lifetime and one that I am sure we will not forget. Thank you Stephanie for putting together such an amazing crew!

Once in a lifetime experience
Our guides were so awesome! We upgraded our excursion to the Full-Day Glacier Kayak & Wildlife Cruise and it was worth every penny. We did this excursion first before our cruise where we did 4 other excursions throughout Alaska and I have to say this one was the best of all excursions we did. We saw more wildlife, we got to experience the glacier so close, we didn’t feel like cattle herded into a big boat like other excursions. After our cruise and all other excursions, this is the excursion we talked about most and everyone agreed with us that we got lucky to be able to do it.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kenai Fjords (Grand Day) Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seward.
How much does Kenai Fjords (Grand Day) Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo cost?
+
Prices start at $600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seward usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kenai Fjords (Grand Day) Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seward is not rushed.
Is Kenai Fjords (Grand Day) Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 65 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Seward, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kenai Fjords (Grand Day) Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Kenai Fjords (Grand Day) Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kenai Fjords (Grand Day) Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo?
+
Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seward can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seward and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kenai Fjords (Grand Day) Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seward within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seward?
+
Seward is the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park: day cruises to tidewater glaciers, whale and puffin watching, glacier hikes on Exit Glacier and halibut charters. On Outty we rank every Seward experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kenai Fjords National Park Glacier & Wildlife Cruise, Full-Day Kenai Fjords National Park Northwestern Cruise, Full-Day Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seward?
+
Late May to early September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seward?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
