Don’t book!
This tour is ridiculous! Cost us nearly £70 , however the entrance to the caves isn’t included! Not only that, they told us they would pick us up at our villa at 9am. It got to 9:20am, so we called the booking office who then informed us they don’t do pick ups from Fiskardo! Nobody told us they couldn’t pick us up, and by the time we called and were informed, it was too late for us to even make our own way down there. So now we have paid £70 for absolutely nothing, as transport is not even included and neither is the cave entrance! Waste of money and an absolute scam! Refund requested , however I don’t believe we won’t get one!!

Big disappointment, program not followed
Big disappointment!! We were supposed to visit the town of Agia Efimia and that was not the case. Way too much bus time for two short 10-minute visits. No interest! I do not recommend it.

Excellent excursion
Wonderful experience all round. Maria our tour guide was exceptional & props to the driver for navigating a coach around some of those windy roads with ease. The caves were interesting, Melissani lake was incredibly busy, but enjoyable & the little wine tasting at the end was a fun bonus. The stop off in Agia Effimia was an unexpected highlight, what a beautiful seaside village. For a first timer in Kefalonia, I highly recommend this excursion. I have found out so much about the island, thanks Maria!

We’re also glad you enjoyed the caves, Melissani Lake, the wine tasting, and especially the stop in Agia Effimia — it really is a beautiful little village. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are delighted that you discovered so much about the island during your first visit. We’ll be sure to pass your lovely feedback on to Maria and the driver. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back to Kefalonia again!

Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zakynthos.
How much does Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave cost?
+
Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zakynthos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zakynthos is not rushed.
Is Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zakynthos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zakynthos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zakynthos and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zakynthos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Zakynthos?
+
On Outty we rank every Zakynthos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ceramic Making Experience in Zakynthos, Half-Day Greek Cooking Class of Zakynthian Culture with Lunch, Zakynthos Turtle Tour Small Group Turtle Spotting & Turtle Island. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zakynthos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zakynthos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Kefalonia Half Day Tour Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave?

Not included: Entrance fees for Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave to be paid upon arrival €13.00 per per; Personal Expenses; and Food & Drinks.
