Spectacular tour up to the roof of Georgia guarantees an unforgettable journey into culture & history!
It’s a long but mainly interesting return drive up over the 2,380m Jvari pass on the Georgian Military Highway, past the ski resort of Gudauri to the Kazbegi area in the Terek River basin, which is actually flowing north into Russia, a few km away! We had coffee & cake at the Rooms Hotel overlooking the valley and up to C14 Holy Trinity church & Kazbegi National Park around & above it. It started to rain at the church & was cloudy/rainy at the viewpoint & Soviet-Georgian Friendship monument so we passed downwards to delightful Ananuri fortress where it was a partly sunny 23 degrees by the holiday-mode banks of the Zhinvali Reservoir, the country’s 7th largest - overall a fascinating day. An 8km tunnel is due to open underneath the Jvari Pass shortly which will cut out the hairpin bend sect& make the route to the Kazbegi market town of Stepantsminda more or less weatherproof year-round!

Wonderful experience with 11 Regions
A fantastic experience. First of all, the organization from a distance was excellent: they were always available and quick to provide feedback. And then there was the trip itself. Absolutely wonderful. Temo accompanied us for more than 2,000 km, showing us the most beautiful places in Georgia, sharing its history and interesting facts, and helping us with everyday matters as well. One last important thing: he was able to personalize the itinerary according to our preferences. We absolutely recommend 11 Regions!

Breathtaking Views, Excellent Organization, and Amazing Guides
Our Kazbegi tour with 11 Regions was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The scenery was breathtaking – from the Ananuri Fortress and Gudauri viewpoints to the incredible Gergeti Trinity Church with Mount Kazbek in the background. Every stop along the route felt like a postcard come to life. The itinerary was perfectly organized, allowing us to enjoy the stunning landscapes, local history, and culture without feeling rushed. The Kazbegi route is considered one of Georgia’s most spectacular day trips, and this tour exceeded all expectations. What made the experience even better was the exceptional service from the team. Giga was incredibly helpful not only during the tour but also with arranging our transfer between Tbilisi and Yerevan. His communication was excellent, he was always responsive, and he made everything completely stress-free. Givi was also highly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful throughout our travels. Both of them went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. If you are looking for a private, well-organized, and memorable experience in Georgia, I can wholeheartedly recommend 11 Regions. Every aspect of our trip was handled with care and professionalism, and we left with amazing memories of both the beautiful Caucasus Mountains and the wonderful people who helped make our journey so special.

Why this scores 84
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kazbegi • Gudauri - private day trip to Mountains: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tbilisi.
How much does Kazbegi • Gudauri - private day trip to Mountains cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tbilisi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kazbegi • Gudauri - private day trip to Mountains take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tbilisi is not rushed.
Is Kazbegi • Gudauri - private day trip to Mountains worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 84 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tbilisi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kazbegi • Gudauri - private day trip to Mountains?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kazbegi • Gudauri - private day trip to Mountains suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kazbegi • Gudauri - private day trip to Mountains?
+
Around 29 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tbilisi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tbilisi and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kazbegi • Gudauri - private day trip to Mountains start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tbilisi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tbilisi?
+
On Outty we rank every Tbilisi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tbilisi:Evening Walking & Talking Tour with Wine & Boat Ride, Tbilisi:Mtskheta,Jvari,Bazaar, wine tasting,Chronicles of Georgia, Kakheti Wine Region Tour + 10 Premium Wine Tastings & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tbilisi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tbilisi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
