Amazing morning spent on the sea in Positano!
Our family of 5 got to explore the Positano coastline by kayak and it was an incredible experience. Our guide Alberto was so knowledgeable about the buildings and history of Positano and took us to beaches and caves that you can only reach by kayak. It was an amazing morning!

Don’t miss this experience if visiting Positano!
For a middle aged Mum who suffers from sea sickness and arthritis in both wrists, Kayaking wasn’t not my first choice of holiday activity on the Amalfi coast! But as I waved goodbye to dry land, the little boutique shops and inviting cafes, I found myself on one of the best days of our trip. We booked directly with Alberto who sent a helpful list of what to bring and where and what time to meet via WhatsApp plus an easy link for payment. Lifejackets and wet bags are provided to put your valuables in and tie into the kayak and you can leave a small bag / rucksack with a change of clothes in the Kiosk when you arrive. We’d also recommend adding a waterproof lanyard for your mobile phone so you can take pics without risking the seawater getting into your phone (or it being dropped into the sea!) Our group had just 3 other kayaks so small and easy, with a mix of ages, abilities and experiences. Alberto navigated us through tunnels, caves and open water with lots of opportunity to admire the views which you can only see from the water. He shared great stories and the history of the area and answered all of our curious questions. He was warm & welcoming throughout and we felt very well looked after as well as in safe hands. We stopped off at Laurito beach, a small inlet away from the crowds to enjoy coffee and cold drinks at Da Adolfo’s beach bar and restaurant and swim in the clear cool waters of the bay before heading back to Positano. I would highly recommend this trip with Alberto. Both myself (not a sailor!) and my 16 yr old son who is in a rowing team back home and essentially lives in boats, both loved every minute.

What an amazing...

Incredible experience! Don’t miss it!
What a perfect way to experience Positano! We’ve kayaked all over the world, and this was one of the best tours we’ve been on. The guide was fun and knowledgeable. He definitely went out of his way to make sure everything worked well for us. It wasn’t difficult, but exploring the rocky coast and caves made it more than just a paddle down the coast. Swimming at the secluded beach, where the water was remarkably clear and pristine was so much better than swimming near the harbor. Just amazing. I can’t think of a better way to spend a morning in Positano.

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kayak tour in Positano: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Positano.
How much does Kayak tour in Positano cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Positano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kayak tour in Positano take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Positano is not rushed.
Is Kayak tour in Positano worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Positano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kayak tour in Positano?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kayak tour in Positano suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Kayak tour in Positano?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Positano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Positano and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kayak tour in Positano start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Positano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Positano?
+
On Outty we rank every Positano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cooking class with Pasta, mozzarella and Tiramisu with wine, Capri and Blue Grotto Semi Private Boat Day Trip from Sorrento, From Sorrento: Positano & Amalfi Coast Boat Tour with Pick Up. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Positano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Positano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
