Amazing sunset trip at Sian Ka’an Biosphere
I went on a sunset kayak trip in July and it was magnificent. The lagoon was exceptionally peaceful, the birdlife fascinating, and the sunset amazing - as the sun dipped toward the horizon, the rippling water reflected streaks of orange and crimson which was truly magical. Booking the trip was efficient, Antonio was helpful and responded promptly, and he went above and beyond to ensure I could get home safely. Absolutely recommend this trip!

Magical atmosphere in the lagoon
We loved the experience of immersing ourself quietly by kayaking into the nature of the lagoon. Antonio is a great, knowledgeable guide and witnessing these large birds like Pelikans on these little islands and flying above us was a remarkable experience. Finally we even got to see a crocodile at the end of the tour very close underneath our kayak. Amazing!

One-in-a-Million Sunset Kayak
Amongst the splendors of Tulum, sunset kayaking with Antonio and his Yucatan Outdoors is one of the most spectacular. Just down from South Tulum beach, through the regal gate to Sian Ka'an Biosphere, to Antonio's landing. Then out into the lagoon, twisting through mangroves, out to islands. Birds beyond belief--entire islands of pelicans and frigates, a great horned owl, prehistoric great blue herons, a peregrine falcon. Even spoonbills in the winter. All the while, Antonio exceptionally guides--beautiful English, deeply experienced with Sian Ka'an and Tulum. The natural beaty of Sian Ka'an--"where the sky is born" in Mayan--is one-in-a-million, as is Antonio and his Yucatan Tours.

Amazing Kayak Tour!
This tour is amazing. Antonio knows the area like the back of his hand. He is familiar with so much of the wildlife and can teach you so much. His kayaks are great quality and he made sure each of us felt comfortable rowing before we took off. This was a wonderful personal experience and one of the best things I’ve done in Tulum.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! It was a pleasure sharing this special corner of Sian Ka’an with you. I’m very glad you enjoyed both the kayaking experience and the opportunity to learn about the wildlife and ecosystems that make this reserve so unique. Safety and comfort are always a priority, so I’m happy to hear that the introduction and equipment helped you feel confident on the water. Whether someone is an experienced paddler or trying kayaking for the first time, I want everyone to enjoy the experience at their own pace. Thank you for your kind words and for choosing to explore Sian Ka’an with us. Knowing that this was one of the highlights of your time in Tulum means a great deal to me. I hope to welcome you back someday for another paddle through the mangroves and bird islands—there is always something new to discover. Warm regards, Antonio Yucatan Outdoors | Kayak Sian Ka’an

Why this scores 81
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kayak Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve Sunset Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tulum.
How much does Kayak Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve Sunset Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tulum usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kayak Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve Sunset Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tulum is not rushed.
Is Kayak Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve Sunset Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 316 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tulum, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kayak Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve Sunset Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kayak Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve Sunset Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kayak Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve Sunset Tour?
+
Around 111 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tulum can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tulum and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kayak Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve Sunset Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tulum within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tulum?
+
On Outty we rank every Tulum experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tulum Ruins, Turtles in Akumal and Cenote tour, Tulum Guided Tour, Magical Cenote, Lagoon Snorkeling and Beachside Lunch, Chichén Itzá, Cenote and Valladolid with Lunch and transportation. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tulum?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tulum?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
