Challenging Interesting Experience!
This was an awesome experience, made special by our guide Dustin Powers. His friendly personality and extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna made the trip very interesting. This is a legit paddling day, however, so depending on the conditions (wind, temperature, weather) could prove very challenging. We (my wife and I) are not experienced kayakers but we’re fit, so completing the 14 miles of paddling and 5 miles of hiking was very satisfying. The hike was very interesting as well. As for wildlife, we saw bald eagles, sea otters, and distant salmon jumping. Thank you, Dustin!

Kayak, hike and history
This was a great trip! The scenery and sea life we encountered while kayaking and hiking was spectacular. I really enjoyed learning about the history of the WWII Fort. Avery was a very pleasant, knowledgeable guide and a joy to spend the day with.

Perfect 2-night stay and kayaking adventure
We are amazing two nights stay at Miller’s Landing in our campervan. We went on a full day kayaking trip with Macy, which was absolutely amazing. Despite a full day of rain, Macy made sure that my son and I had a memorable adventure and a safe and enjoyable experience. We couldn’t have happier with Macy and the whole Miller’s Landing team. Thank you for an unforgettable adventure!

Exceptional Guide, Unforgettable Experience
Avery was phenomenal and truly made the entire experience. She was fun, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. Her enthusiasm for the area was contagious, and she shared fascinating facts about the wildlife, history, and local environment throughout the trip. She created a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere while making everyone feel safe and engaged. We couldn't have asked for a better guide and would absolutely recommend kayaking with Avery to anyone visiting Alaska.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seward.
How much does Kayak and Hike to Historic WW2 Army Fort in Alaska! cost?

Prices start at $188 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seward usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kayak and Hike to Historic WW2 Army Fort in Alaska! take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seward is not rushed.
Is Kayak and Hike to Historic WW2 Army Fort in Alaska! worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 105 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Seward, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kayak and Hike to Historic WW2 Army Fort in Alaska!?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Kayak and Hike to Historic WW2 Army Fort in Alaska! suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kayak and Hike to Historic WW2 Army Fort in Alaska!?
+
Around 37 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seward can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seward and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kayak and Hike to Historic WW2 Army Fort in Alaska! start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seward within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seward?
+
Seward is the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park: day cruises to tidewater glaciers, whale and puffin watching, glacier hikes on Exit Glacier and halibut charters. On Outty we rank every Seward experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kenai Fjords National Park Glacier & Wildlife Cruise, Full Day Kenai Fjords National Park Northwestern Cruise, Kenai Fjords and Resurrection Bay Half Day Wildlife Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seward?
+
Late May to early September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seward?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
