    Beautiful experience

The tour was very interesting. We did it all on foot by ourselves, arranged for the return with a tuk tuk. The temples are very beautiful

Perfect round trip with the best guide Nihal!

Nihal is really an excellent guide and a very safe driver. He speaks fluent English, has a lot of knowledge of Sri Lanka, religions, history and all aspects of the country and has good empathy and healthy humor. We spent a total of six days with him in Kandy, Sigiriya, Nuwara Eliya and Ella as far as Tangalle on the south coast. He took care of everything and showed us the best spots, we had a great elephant safari where we had the opportunity to experience many thick skins up close. Another highlight was a train ride on the Calypso Train from Ella to Nine Arch’s Bridge, where we took the historic train for a quarter of an hour. We can unreservedly recommend Nihal, the best guide for a perfect Sri Lanka tour at a fair price! There were four of us (Nihal included) in his Honda station wagon about 800km on the road, very comfortable and fully adequate in terms of space.

    Excellent tour guide!

We had a great two days with Nihal. Day 1 was Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla caves and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. Day 2 was an amazing elephant safari to Kaudulla! Nihal was friendly and informative and did a great job showing us in and around Kandy! 10/10 Highly recommended. Thank you!

Great experience with Nihal in a four day tour around Sri Lanka

We did a wonderful private tour with Nihal around Sri Lanka during four days. Our Sri Lankan friend with whom we were traveling had just left us due to other obligations, and we were a bit lost in the middle of our itinerary. However, we were truly lucky to meet Nihal in beautiful Kandy. Nihal offered to complete our itinerary for a very reasonable price, and took us from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Galle and Colombo. I must say that our experience with him was very positive. First, he is a very nice guy, always professional, respectful and discreet. He adapted very well to our needs, timings and budget at all times. He is also a reliable and safe driver, which is particularly relevant in Sri Lanka. He was always in a good mood despite being quite an intensive journey. He was also quite knowledgeable and resourceful, had a lot of proposals of places to visit, eat or enjoy our time. His stops along the road were also very well picked. Overall, we felt very lucky to meet Nihal along the way. Our tour with him was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Sri Lanka and I encourage anyone visiting the country to count on him.

    We totally recommend

We are two female students and were on the road with Desi for 5 days from Dikwella to Kandy and made stops at Ella and Nuwara Eliya. On our tour we made for example a Safari at Udawalawe National Park where he surprised us with his knowledge about the wildlife and plants. He speaks very good English and was always on time. We had a lot of interesting conversations and he has a really good knowledge of the culture and history. He is also a very good and calm driver so we always felt safe with him. Desi has a lot of good connections and always finds a delicious place to eat or a fitting accommodation. If you like he is a private guide who explains you a lot of interesting things. He gave us lots of good ideas where to stop and what to visit. He always kept our little budget in mind and still found very cool things for us to do. For example we visited tea plantations where we could see the whole process and try different sorts of tea. Desi always made sure that we don't pay more than it is common. We would always recommend traveling with him through Sri Lanka as we had a really good time with him. Even after the trip he offered us always to contact him if we had a problem.

Kandy City Tour with Three Temples - Day Tour Around Kandy: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kandy.

How much does Kandy City Tour with Three Temples - Day Tour Around Kandy cost?

    +

Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kandy usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kandy City Tour with Three Temples - Day Tour Around Kandy take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kandy is not rushed.

Is Kandy City Tour with Three Temples - Day Tour Around Kandy worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kandy, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kandy City Tour with Three Temples - Day Tour Around Kandy?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kandy City Tour with Three Temples - Day Tour Around Kandy suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kandy City Tour with Three Temples - Day Tour Around Kandy?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kandy can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kandy and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kandy City Tour with Three Temples - Day Tour Around Kandy start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kandy within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kandy?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kandy experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Explore Kandy City Tour by Tuk Tuk, Tours and Transportation in Sri Lanka, Chauffeur guide and Tour organizer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kandy?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kandy?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
