What you'll see and do
Kbal Spean
Kbal Spean (River of a Thousand Lingas) is one of Cambodia's most unique archaeological and natural attractions, located about 50 km northeast of Siem Reap on the southwestern slopes of the Kulen Mountains. Unlike the grand temples of Angkor, Kbal Spean is hidden within a tropical forest and is reached by a scenic 1.5 km uphill hike. The sacred carvings at Kbal Spean date from the 11th to 13th centuries, during the the Khmer Empire. The site was developed as a sacred Hindu sanctuary where water flowing from the Kulen Mountain was believed to be blessed before continuing downstream to Angkor. Kbal Spean is famous for its hundreds of lingas carved directly into the sandstone riverbed. The hike to Kbal Spean passes through a peaceful tropical forest filled with tall trees, unique rock formations, birds, butterflies, and seasonal wildflowers. The trail is moderately challenging with some rocky and uneven sections, making it suitable for travelers with a reasonable level of fitness.

Banteay Srei
Banteay Srei, the "Jewel of Khmer Art" Banteay Srei is widely regarded as the finest example of Khmer stone carving. Every doorway, lintel, pediment, and column is covered with incredibly detailed floral patterns, mythical creatures, and scenes from Hindu mythology. Unlike most Angkor temples, which were built from gray sandstone or laterite, Banteay Srei is constructed from pink sandstone. This softer stone allowed artisans to create exceptionally delicate and intricate carvings that remain remarkably well preserved after more than 1,000 years.

Outstanding private tour of Angkor Wat temples
The tour was fantastic with a lot of great sights and vantage points to take a lot of photos. Our tour guide Ben and driver Bo went above and beyond expectations. Ben spoke great English and he made the tour so special with his knowledge and insights, friendly approach to all. He made sure everything that we needed was cared for, no pressure or rush at each temple, we got to enjoy each for as long as we wished. I would highly recommend this tour to anybody looking to do a tour. Great value for money and won’t be disappointed.

Great and Informative
Had a great time! Saw the big sites and at a good pace. It started right at 8AM and ended around 2PM. It varies with each tour. My tour guide Ben/Yen was absolutely fantastic. He gave plenty of explanations and stopped to rest frequently which was appreciated. I loved getting around in Tuk Tuk. Thank you to Bo for driving. We saw Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm, and the gates with the faces with them. Ben and Bo were kind enough to bring me back to Angkor Wat to take a few more photos. I really appreciated that. Thanks to Ben and Bo! Tip: bring an umbrella to protect from the sun. It’s going to be a hot day out so dress appropriately.

Highly Recommended Tour
I cannot recommend this tour enough. My husband and I were the only participants for that day, but the tour company didn't cancel the trip. Borey, our tour guide, is an excellent tour guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and a great storyteller. She shared so many historical and cultural details about the temples in Angkor Wat Park that would be challenging to find on our own. She went above and beyond in accommodating our needs and ensuring that we had an amazing experience. Her passion for the area was contagious, and she made the tour so much more enjoyable than we could have imagined. What also impressed us was that she provided helpful tips, from how to take the best pictures to the best areas we should go to get the most out of the trip. Throughout the tour, Borey was warm, friendly, and professional, offering a great experience that we will always remember. We didn't encounter any problems during our tour, but we felt confident that Borey was well-equipped to handle whatever challenges could arise. Overall, we had an amazing time touring Angkor Wat Park with Borey as our guide, and we highly recommend this trip to anyone. It was an unforgettable experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide than Borey.

Jungle Hike to Kbal Spean -Holy River & Banteay Srei Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.
How much does Jungle Hike to Kbal Spean -Holy River & Banteay Srei Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Jungle Hike to Kbal Spean -Holy River & Banteay Srei Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.
Is Jungle Hike to Kbal Spean -Holy River & Banteay Srei Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Jungle Hike to Kbal Spean -Holy River & Banteay Srei Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Jungle Hike to Kbal Spean -Holy River & Banteay Srei Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Jungle Hike to Kbal Spean -Holy River & Banteay Srei Private Tour?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Jungle Hike to Kbal Spean -Holy River & Banteay Srei Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?
+
On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siem Reap?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
