What you get

    About this experience

The only private bike tour in Juneau! Enjoy the intimacy of just your family and friends — up to 4 — on a bike ride a few miles from the Mendenhall Glacier. All biking is on flat ground. Bike to the first glacier lookout, before riding along a nature trail with more glacier views. The easy-paced ride lasts about 1.5 hours (3.5 miles), with amazing photo opportunities. Afterward, we do some sightseeing, including a visit to the DIPAC salmon hatchery, in a SUV. Guide is a local family man. Start times are flexible. Unlike other bike tours in town, you have two WORRY-FREE assurances: * You will never have to bike in the rain. In case of rain, you can, on the morning of the tour, easily switch to just sightseeing (refer to “Juneau Private Sightseeing & Hatchery with a Local - Lux SUV”). * Since it’s just your private party, your tour will never be canceled last second due to a minimum limit of total bikers - including those outside your party - that hasn't been reached.

    Outstanding Guide

Allan was fantastic & when rainy weather cancelled our bike trip, he gave us the choice to do something else. We had a wonderful guided tour & recommend his service in Juneau highly!

Response from the operator: Thank you, Laura. The unfortunate weather turned into a fortunate opportunity to do sightseeing by SUV! Enjoy the rest of your cruise, and safe travels back to CA. Take care Allan

    A Great Day in Juneau

Wow! What a wonderful morning exploring the area with Allan. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about Juneau, its rich history, and its incredible natural beauty. We asked to spend more time outdoors and visit other points of interest, and Allan was happy to accommodate, taking us to several scenic locations, including the bird preserve. A highlight of the tour was visiting the salmon hatchery. It was fascinating to learn about marine life, the salmon life cycle, and the important role the hatchery plays in protecting and sustaining salmon populations. Allan’s knowledge, flexibility, and enthusiasm made for an unforgettable experience.

Response from the operator: Thanks Anna! I’m happy you and Matt enjoyed yourselves. Safe travels back to Washington.

    Take a Fun Bike-SUV Tour

Wow...what a great experience. We booked the morning of our bike tour and were treated to an awesome experience with personal attention from Allan, the host-tour guide. He picked us up from our desired location and took us to pick up our bikes, pointing out interesting things along the way. The bikes were practically new Trek bikes and despite very rainy weather (to be expected in Juneau), we had a good time following Allan through a variety of neighborhoods and around the airport near several glacier viewing vantage points. You won't be close too the the glacier but you will get a distant view as you are still in the city. We loved the bike ride and Allan's friendliness and stories and tales made it all the more interesting, especially on the SUV Viewing tour after the bike ride which was equally fun and interesting. We stopped at some Totems and got several good views of the surrounding lakes/islands. It was certainly nice to get a heated limousine like experience after our wet bike ride. Note we were day long cruise passengers and we scheduled a late afternoon booking after a several hour hike on the Perseverance Trail. Can't speak to the hatchery as it closed prior to our late afternoon tour. Would definitely have no reservations about recommending this private tour vs. doing the larger group tours sponsored by the Cruise lines/Viator/TripAdvisor.

Response from the operator: Thanks Sam. What an adventure we had! I hope all four in your party made it home safely, and made memories for a lifetime.

    Escape the crowds of Juneau

Book this tour if you’re looking for a peaceful, easy-paced bike ride and car tour of Juneau. Allen is friendly, knowledgeable & willing to make a detour if you have something in mind. Beautiful scenery and views of the glacier. Fabulous experience! Thank you, Allan, for making our day in Juneau special.

Response from the operator: You’re welcome, Evelyn and Stuart. I enjoyed the bike ride a lot, as well as touring around in my SUV. Even for a local, the scenery never gets old! Safe travels back to Florida. Allan

Juneau Private Biking with Glacier Views & Salmon Hatchery Stop: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Juneau.

How much does Juneau Private Biking with Glacier Views & Salmon Hatchery Stop cost?

    +

Prices start at $198 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Juneau usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Juneau Private Biking with Glacier Views & Salmon Hatchery Stop take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Juneau is not rushed.

Is Juneau Private Biking with Glacier Views & Salmon Hatchery Stop worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Juneau, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Juneau Private Biking with Glacier Views & Salmon Hatchery Stop?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Juneau Private Biking with Glacier Views & Salmon Hatchery Stop suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Juneau Private Biking with Glacier Views & Salmon Hatchery Stop?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Juneau can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Juneau and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Juneau Private Biking with Glacier Views & Salmon Hatchery Stop start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Juneau within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Juneau?

    +

Juneau runs Mendenhall Glacier trips, whale watching in Auke Bay, helicopter glacier landings with dog sledding, and rainforest hikes. Most tours are timed to cruise ship windows, so we weight clear duration and pickup detail. On Outty we rank every Juneau experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching, Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier, Whales and Wilderness Exploration. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Juneau?

    +

May to September, peaking for humpbacks in June and July. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Juneau?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
