    A Perfect Day

Book this tour NOW!! And ask the owners about extending your day. Best decision EVER! Jason was an incredibly knowledgeable and fun tour guide. He picked us up right from the ship and personalized our entire day together. We walked stunning rainforest trails, got to see the glacier from several local vantage points (zero crowds), and then spent a couple hours on the water at Amalga Harbour. We saw wildlife, experienced incredible views, and sampled both wild berries and the local gas station deli (don't knock it till you try it)!! Jason taught us so much about Alaska and shared his deep love for Juneau with our family. This was by far our favorite day on the cruise. Thanks for the vibes Jason!!

    Jason was an exceptional...

Jason was an exceptional tour guide and extremely knowledgeable about the area and beautiful kayaking and hiking areas that were away from the tourist crowds. He is also very flexible and will customize your tour based on the abilities and interests of your party. We saw black bear, eagles, salmon jumping and tons of starfish! Jason was also very patient and attuned to the needs of everyone in our group. I would give 6 stars if I could!

Excellent Experience for Day in Juneau

Our group of three very much enjoyed our afternoon with Noah, our tour guide. He was very kind, informative, and a good instructor/leader as we kayaked, hiked, and stopped at two different viewing locations to see Mendenhall Glacier. It was so nice being able to have this experience with just our group and having the pace tailored to us. What a treat for our day in Juneau, would definitely do it again.

    Juneau, Alaska June 2026.

Jason and Noah took us on a kayak trip of a lifetime! We saw multiple orcas, sea lions, and a porcupine! We took a short hike too. I’m 77 yrs old and was a little hesitant to go, but the kayaks were easy to get in, out and maneuver. What a fun time we had!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled that Jason and Noah could help make your kayaking adventure a trip of a lifetime. Seeing orcas, sea lions, and even a porcupine in one outing is certainly a memorable day in Juneau! We're especially happy to hear that the kayaks were comfortable and easy to use, and that you felt confident getting on the water. Your kind words will mean a lot to Jason and Noah. Thank you for choosing Juneau Land and Sea Adventures. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure the next time you're in Alaska!

Juneau Private Kayak, Glacier Viewing and Hiking Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Juneau.

How much does Juneau Private Kayak, Glacier Viewing and Hiking Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $1170 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Juneau usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Juneau Private Kayak, Glacier Viewing and Hiking Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Juneau is not rushed.

Is Juneau Private Kayak, Glacier Viewing and Hiking Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Juneau, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Juneau Private Kayak, Glacier Viewing and Hiking Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Juneau Private Kayak, Glacier Viewing and Hiking Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Juneau Private Kayak, Glacier Viewing and Hiking Tour?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Juneau can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Juneau and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Juneau Private Kayak, Glacier Viewing and Hiking Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Juneau within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Juneau?

    +

Juneau runs Mendenhall Glacier trips, whale watching in Auke Bay, helicopter glacier landings with dog sledding, and rainforest hikes. Most tours are timed to cruise ship windows, so we weight clear duration and pickup detail. On Outty we rank every Juneau experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching, Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier, Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Juneau?

    +

May to September, peaking for humpbacks in June and July. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Juneau?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
